Pros

Great flexibility of schedule Ability to flex creative muscles

Cons

Culture has changed, it's become much more about the bottom line and not about an individual's success. They have lost much of what made them special.

Hi, there. We appreciate your thoughts and are glad you enjoyed the flexibility of your role. Our company culture continues to be a top reason many salespeople love working with N2 and find the opportunity refreshing after coming from corporate sales. If you have any additional feedback on what you feel has been a change in culture, we hope you will share this with support@n2co.com. We do want to clarify that the “bottom line” is not dictated by our company. Every franchisee drives their own financial outcome, which many see as a perk. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The n2 Company has always been everything they say they are. It is the best job I have ever had in 35+ years in the marketing, advertising, communications industry. It is a pleasure getting up every morning to work with all the opportunities to take my business as far as I can go and grow, and with the flexibility to get things done on my schedule. I have never had so much honest and encouraging support, and the tools to go along with it, to help me achieve my goals.

Cons

If you are not self motivated and ready and willing to put yourself out there to make connections with sponsors it can be a challenge. It is a great fit for me.

Really not your franchise

Pros

You have the ability to create a work schedule that works for you.

Cons

This is not your franchise. You are lead to believe that it is and that you can choose what you’d like your income to be but they ultimately require you to get to a certain amount monthly or they will take your publication from you. Either shutting it down altogether or choosing to have corporate try to run it. Problem with either is you have done all of the work ramping your magazine up and then if you don’t have the income they require, all of your contracts and income is taken from you. If the franchise belonged to you, you should be able to make how much or little you choose as long as you are able to cover your costs to produce the magazine and pay your ‘franchise’ fee.

Hi there. We appreciate your thoughts, but will have to respectfully disagree with many of your points. The Area Director role is indeed a franchise opportunity to not only own your book of business, but your income potential. Your paycheck directly reflects the work you put in, and we make it clear from the first interview that it takes a lot of drive and self-discipline to succeed. That’s why our most successful Area Directors earn what they do, while others find they’re not cut out for the role. And like most well-established franchise operations, we have minimum quality and production standards in place to ensure our national reputation is being upheld. When a franchise is no longer remaining in good standing, we come alongside the Area Director for extra help and coaching. If that isn’t enough to help the publication business succeed, we ultimately have to take action. As you know, each AD has multiple leaders they can turn to for support, and we encourage them to reach out and share more specific feedback so we can address any issues at hand. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
