Pros

If you like the corporate "dance" and like to be promoted through the ranks without having the relevant skillset, then yes, Steelcase is your company. Works only if you are a man though. You will encounter great people at times, and it will give you hope that what this company promotes as core values is not only a marketing gag, but in the end its just another corporate that doesn't walk the talk. If you are into that kind of game, go for it. They are leading the market, they have great products and there is a lot to learn.

Cons

If you have talent, if you are innovative, hungry and if you want to make a difference, take your energy elsewhere. There is no room for growth, on the contrary. Its a total boy's club and the gender pay-gap is enormous.

Pros

Steelcase has a fantastic engineering team where everybody is eager to contribute and help each other out. The products are exciting to work on and there is a lot of opportunity to define how best you can contribute to the team's success. The business has recently placed a larger emphasis on removing blocks so that the teams can work effectively and deliver.

Cons

Steelcase is a large organization and it can take time for course corrections to be made. This can be frustrating if you like to move quickly. Having said that, it is clear that the management team recognizes the need to be able to move more quickly and they are actively working to remove obstacles to that goal.

The steelcase wood plant is a joke

Pros

As of right now it's just the hours but not the same in every area

Cons

Worst pay ever. They favor the steel employees. The most common problem here is two people will be doing the same job but one is making 3 dollars more an hour just because he came from steel. A lot of the work is relied on the lesser paid employees. There is ALOT of (management, engineers) constantly walking around coming up with stupid ideas because their told hey think of something new for this area. Then their gone. Salary is getting raises yearly, the workers haven't received a raise in over ten years. The late policy now is a joke. You could literally lose your job from being a total of 6 seconds late
