Pros

Exciting company to work for. Always doing new and cool things in the sports software world. Great engineering managers and leaders. Lots of freedom to do things your own way (when you find time). "Agile" isn't just a sometimes thing here. They practice it well and do it right. The engineering teams are well-coordinated and gel nicely. Everyone is at least courteously friendly.

Cons

The company lacks vision - or rather, lacks the ability to share and align their vision among their employees. Executive leadership works in a silo and is not very transparent - even when they think they are. Communication is abysmal. CONSTANT unexpected layoffs really bring morale down. Lackluster benefits. Very few perks. Office space is meh. Decorated alright and arranged nicely, but there's nothing fun to do after hours or on breaks. When snacks do get put out, they're gone within a few hours (likely to whoever stashed them in their file cabinet). Stack Sports is still (3 years later) a collection of purchased software companies that have no collaboration across teams and very few people know people outside of their original company/product.

Pros

I made it out of there. Only Pro that could be mentioned would be the other reps. Building the relationships of people I still talk to now.

Cons

Literally, everything else. For starters, 8/22/19 marks the 6th round of lay offs since Feb of 2018. Upper management has zero idea how to actually manage outside of barking and screaming at call numbers. Zero training, zero transparency, zero chance the company will crawl out of the hole they have dug themselves into. It is a running joke around the office of how terrible place it is to work. No one enjoys being there. It is obvious these positive reviews that have been left within the last year are not accurate or genuine and most likely left by HR or someone of that nature trying to change the perception.

Pros

The health insurance isn't terrible.

Cons

The amount of layoffs I have witnessed in 18 months has been insane. Senior management is terrible and some of their VPs that I know personally have no confidence in the leadership. Everyone is waiting to get laid off or sold. There is no security. The company does have a new CEO so maybe things are better, but I've heard they aren't. I left on good terms with the company but I would never in a million years want to go back there after what I witnessed.
