Pros

Lets see.....Ummm, I got nothing. Wait, the site supervisors where nice. Mine tried hard to be pleasent.

Cons

They are the biggest group of unorganized people to ever live. The regional management seems to only have had minimal experience in handling such a large responsibility. They don’t know how to communicate with people on ANY level. And the sad part is they don’t realize that the look like a group of monkeys trying to pull out all of the stops once the customer threatens to terminate the contract. I have heard some conversations about them that makes me cringe at the thought of having to be associated with them. The only bright spot has been my supervisor, who has been demoted. She should have walked out the minute that happened instead of trying to smile thru this train wreck. Meanwhile, they promoted me and I ONLY excepted this position as a resume builder. They won’t be around much longer, so I will use them for the supervisor experience like they used us to help them retain a contract.

Pros

Great group of talented employees. A lot of growth in the pipeline.

Cons

Unfortunately, the President has her hands in EVERYTHING and not always the most professional or courteous when communicating to you. If you get on her bad side, your days with the company are numbered.

Pros

I enjoyed a lot of the people I worked with, the job itself was challenging and fun, and the casual dress code is great.

Cons

Two words to describe working at Edco: soul sucking. This company is wrought with horrible management practices, as well as unqualified leaders. The few that know what they are doing, try to do the best they can for the employees they supervise, but they are fighting an uphill battle. I was privileged to be a “favorite” of my supervisors, so my experience wasn’t nearly as harrowing as a lot of my fellow employees. I left the company in good standing after over 2 years, so this is not a retaliatory review. That being said, I had a severe amount of anxiety working in such an unbalanced environment. I watched rampant favoritism, willful ignorance, and just plain stupidity run the review floor. Upper management is so far removed from what their reviewers are doing, that any time they decide to implement a new rule or practice, it’s a nightmare for the review floor. They are out of touch with what is going on, trusting that the people they have running the floor have things under control. Unfortunately, if you’re not friends with a supervisor you run the risk of being treated as a second class citizen. Painfully obvious breaking of rules and regulations get ignored as long as they like you, and if they don’t—watch out. Any perceived slight against one of them is enough for them to find a way to fire you, be it suddenly raising metrics, changing corrective action practices, or just saying you’re “too difficult to work with”. There is always a feeling of helplessness since things don’t seem to ever change for the better. While the work itself is challenging and fun, the job is almost unbearable because of the leaders they have put in place. They have very bad judgement in the people they promote; the less you do, the more they seem to like you. They bring on new hires at higher rates than people that have worked there for YEARS. They trust that they have everyone so afraid to talk about what they make, no one will notice the fact that their pay scale is severely skewed to new employees. They don’t give enough merit based raises (they hardly give any at all), and they seem to only give you a raise if you fight with HR that someone who has a lower status than you gets paid more. There are so many issues, I could write pages. But I will stop my rant here. I will miss some of my fellow employees, and a couple of supervisors, but I hope I never have to darken that door ever again.
