There are quite a few things wrong here and that I've experienced in my 6 years of working here.
-Huge turnover rate, there are only maybe 5 or so people that have worked here for 3 or more years. The rest have been there less than a year and a half. This makes training new employees an extremely difficult task since most of the knowledge tends to leave. They also tend to keep the more 'expensive 'employees around that are extremely incompetent and can barely remember their names let alone remember how to run the tools.
-Absolutely no experience coming in that can handle the fast pace environment of the company. This causes issues with training and keeping people trained.
-There are many coming in that end up hurting themselves because they are made to think that safety is second only to production. However, not the case with some of the supervisors/leads. I like to instill in my team nothing but safety and if they ever have to question it then either don't do it or talk to me first.
-Most of the supervisors are clueless as to how to actually run the floor. There have been countless times where one thing was said but something else entirely was happening on the floor. Things are not being handled correctly from shift to shift. We are supposed to be working together as teams but at this point it feels like all that is happening is other shifts are picking up the slack for the ones that don't care.
-Engineers are supposed to help but because of their lack of the time on the floor or with the tools in question, mistakes are being made. Also, it is very rare that the operators have actually met the engineers so none of them can ever put a name to a face.
-The pay is absolutely horrendous. I've been working for 6 years and have just barely cracked the $15 mark. I've pretty much given my all to this place and don't have much to show other than a title and a massive load of depression. So much so that I can't even do my job anymore. Currently seeking other avenues of employment.
-Final issue, they don't treat females with respect. Constantly looked down on and thought of as inferior.
