Great opportunities if you own your narrative
Pros
1) Top dog software provider in investment space 2) Global clients, you can learn a lot 3) Limitless opportunities if you want to learn and own your path 4) Possibilities for internal transfers including relocation 5) You can get detailed overview of the whole capital markets setup 6) Really smart people to work with, a lot of them happy to help you 7) At that level it is small world so clients and vendors know each other, you can create nice network 8) Despite a lot of complains the product and company offering really covers a lot of client needs
Cons
1) You have to have a plan for yourself to succeed in this company, no one is going to help you with that 2) If you are self-starter and proactive you will likely succeed and if you are not you will be frustrated 3) Structure is chaotic - it changes so often you have no idea who does what, your best options is to build relationships and stick to them 4) Really poor internal communication - with SaaS transformation there is a lot happening but you have no idea who to contact 5) Again poor internal communication - some senior people joining/leaving no one tells you about that 6) There is a caste system - some people know each other for 10+ years and will withhold information from you, I have seen external experts joining that have been stopped on every ocassion because they are new and not part of the gang, also seems that change makes some people threatened 7) Not enough money put in internal education - a lot of it is outdated 8) If you heared term leadership crisis you can witness it there, especially in the middle - I have been to countless meetings where people with knowledge x5 of mine and in position to do so were afraid to make a decision, hence why a lot of actions are delayed until they become a small crisis 9) vision for the company is not transfered to middle management or they don't know how to apply it in lower levels, I go to global townhalls and I have a feeling we work in two different companies 10) due to their seniority some people can do what they please, even tho there are some rules and procedures, so you get the feeling of double standards 11) a lot of experienced people left, a lot of new hires from low-cost locations with minimum knowledge puts a pressure on senior consultants due to quality of work
