Pros

Good benefits but only a matter of time before they are reduced.

Cons

I can't speak to the conditions globally (although I understand headquarters is in the same boat) North America is in an absolute free fall. Senior management has turned over repeatedly. Currently an entirely new team with no lighting experience and they look to be even more incompetent than their many predecessors. The company is trying to position itself as a software IoT platform and cloud based app provider but is mostly smoke and mirrors. Just because you claim you are an IoT player doesn't make it true. The fact is they are a manufacturer and lack the right talent and agility to succeed in this space. They are really struggling to compete in new markets and their only solution is to cut costs and personnel in an effort to grasp at profitability. Corporate headquarters in Eindhoven has repeatedly placed Europeans in key positions in NA to disastrous effect. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing repeatedly expecting different results? There was a time Philips Lighting was a great place to work. Now morale is rock bottom and people in Somerset are all in survival mode. Layoffs are constant and there seems to be a pattern of letting long term employees go. Budget cuts so extreme that doing business is impossible. Communications is putting out a lot of "hype" about what an exciting time it is at Signify and how great it is to work there. It is all HYPE. The guiltiest purveyor of the HYPE is the president of NA. Self delusional. Not kidding-jaw dropping delusion. For years this was the best job and company I had ever worked for. Watching it turn into a malevolent, misguided and mismanaged train wreck is hard-like grieving the loss of a good friend.
