But don't stay here too long (and most people don't) because your skills and your wallet will suffer. This is a non-profit so the intrinsic value of contributing to education and children should be one of your goals, otherwise you'll be in the wrong place.

The responsibilities that are asked by SW don't match up to what they pay for. The science shows are a small percentage of the overall responsibilities. A lot of it is standard customer service, standing around and talking to customers, custodian work, and daycare. The science degree and education degree they ask for is not congruous at all with how much they pay, and how few meaningful responsibilities they assign. Most high school volunteers can perform all the same tasks science facilitators can, except maybe the shows. But even those can be taught to anyone willing enough and with even a small amount of improv/theater skills.
