Pros

WFH & commission (Thats if you hit it!)

Cons

Working at Saga has been a challenging experience, primarily due to the severe understaffing issue that is reflected in our consistently high call volumes. If you're assigned to phone duties, expect to handle continuous calls day in and day out. Taking necessary breaks, even for basic tasks like updating customer notes or using the restroom, comes with penalties. Additionally, when it comes to commission, QA scrutiny is stringent, often resulting in commission deductions for minor issues found in the calls they review. This can effectively reduce earnings to minimum wage levels. Over time, Saga seems to have added more processes, making the job increasingly demanding, with the apparent aim of minimizing commission payouts. At times, it feels like the company is working against its own employees. The turnover rate here is very high, with many new hires experiencing the demands of phone duty post-training and promptly leaving. Moreover, there appears to be a lack of opportunities for career advancement, making this feel like a dead-end position. These are some of the primary concerns I've encountered during my tenure, though there are more that could be mentioned.

Pros

Strong alignment to company values - Easy to remember and maintain

Cons

Plans to enhance customer journey are changed reactively I feel the company constantly chases their tail instead of using the valuable time to create a plan that lasts longer than a day and invest in the plan. Colleagues don't know if they are doing a good job. There is a severe lack of engagement efforts from hierarchy - Colleagues feel each customer as a NUMBER because they are very unlikely to be praised for their great work which then leads to their high turnover, Saga decided to sell a office for millions of pounds.. leaving the colleagues of the area to source other employment or remain working at home. Some with children or not enough space to accommodate this were offered unsatisfactory contribution to travel expenses and shared office costs lasting no longer than 6 months. Acromas is a great means of income for Saga which they have recently decided to sell. This is quite possibly the worst move to make for all claims employees. Employees heard this devastating news through the papers before their own employer decided to distribute the communication though text. You'll be a number rather than a valued employee at the end.
