SafeBase is a case study in mismanagement. While the CEO and leadership team present themselves as forward-thinking and caring, the reality is that they’re consistently failing to meet even the most basic expectations of good leadership. They make lofty promises about career progression, compensation, and support, but those promises are rarely kept. Instead, employees are left frustrated and disillusioned, often dismissed when they raise legitimate concerns.
One of the most glaring issues is the constant turnover in leadership. Talented, experienced professionals are brought in with great optimism, but they often leave or are forced out. This ongoing dysfunction makes it impossible for the company to build momentum or retain the expertise it so desperately needs.
The culture among the executive team is equally problematic. There’s an overwhelming sense of arrogance and insularity. Decisions are made in a vacuum, and the CEO surrounds himself with a small circle of trusted allies, and anyone outside that circle finds their contributions undervalued and their careers stalled.
The result is an organization that squanders its potential, alienates its talent, and struggles to compete in a rapidly evolving market. With more humility, accountability, and a willingness to empower others, SafeBase could be a very different company.
