- Constantly fighting with all other divisions of the business. Just because a work phone is powered by electricity and has a screen does not mean I should be looking at or dealing with it.
- Top level management have the ultimate say in technical issues....this explains why wireless was not incorporated into the business until 2014, as they deemed it unsecure!
- Meetings are more important to the business than actually doing any work (you will need to get used to having meetings about meetings)
- Progress reports are more important to the business than actual progress itself
- Far too many managers
- Only way to progress (career-wise) by any means is to become a management type
- Treated like children a lot of the time - micromanaged
- Not trusted to carry out certain technical work despite never being given the chance. They always call in 3rd parties to carry out the work whilst we oversee it.
- A lot of "management speak" is used at many levels to give the impression that people are important, busy or even to give off the impression that they know what they are talking about.
- PDR process is a farce. In fact, calling it a farce is farcical. It is way beyond a farce. Such as waste of time and energy.
