Pros

Some interesting technology being used in Software Development and QA

Cons

Co-founders and head of Manufacturing are very hard to work with. The CEO acts like he is a King. The COO acts like he is a child. The head of Manufacturing is a High School Bully.

Pros

Great technology and products which pass as innovative in the security industry. Executives and founders are all founders of what they do (open doors and shoot video). Not a sweatshop environment in the least. Most people are pretty nice. The company is stable and profitable with continual record sales.

Cons

The company doesn't trust rank and file enough to keep the office supplies open; you have to find someone with the right permissions. Think that the business they are in is to track who opens doors and this is jaw droppingly stupid. Benefits are on the low side. Management is as unprofessional as any I've seen-- they curse, yell, intimidate, harass. The is no human resources person or group to impartially resolve issues.

Pros

It is a small business with some very nice people. The engineering process is very free form with very little planning, specifications and management. If you come from a top heavy Agile managed environment, you may like that. This sector of product (physical security) has a low level expectation in terms of technological solutions, which means that new ideas can create a significant advantage in the market place - there is opportunity to change the landscape of security in some ways. That's always interesting.

Cons

Lots of people leaving. You'll see many jobs openings now. Engineers are leaving because the place is a circus. A single person is deciding the direction of all of engineering without consulting the engineering leads. Decisions are made on Friday night over scotch between 2 people...you see the picture. Small bonuses, no equity. The worst place I ever worked at, for sure. I hate to even make such a review. But if it can prevent someone else from making the same error I made of getting in there, working hard … only to get stone walled by non-technical issues, it will have been worth it.
