Micro-management by certain leaders really soured my experience. This created a sense of fear and paranoia around the office.
Staff were not empowered or trusted to make any kind of decision on their own accord- everything had to be approved and closely monitored.
Every minute was watched- if you’re late to work by three minutes, you stay back by exactly three minutes. Toilet and tea breaks could only be taken if someone was available to cover them.
Some staff were clearly stressed, bullied, overworked and unhappy however the attitude by senior management to sweep these symptoms under the rug raised questions of integrity.
Indulgent Senior management team prefer to focus on participating in corporate entertainment rather than get to know their people or see how they can assist to drive greater growth.
Extremely high staff turnover- one department had a new person in every 2-3 months over the course of 2 years due to bullying, excessive pressure/ unrealistic demands
