Pros
The people at Rodgers Townsend are great. I have loved collaborating and working with really supportive team members. From holiday parties to personal get-togethers, we have all built great bonds and have seen our kids grow up. For the most part, the people at RT are the best you will come by. HR is great. The new CEO is a nice guy, great with new business and transparency. Everyone is inclusive and the work we put out in the world is topnotch. Feels like family. My rating one year ago would have been a solid 5 stars.
Cons
As a longtime employee here, I have witnessed a lot of change over the years (some good, some bad). The last year has been one of the hardest. Employee turnover is up whereas employee morale is down. Everyone you talk to on a one-to-one basis is severely overworked and demands are increasing from unforgiving account directors/VPs and clients. The creative & strategy teams are pulling very long hours on a regular basis and the media department has nearly had complete turnover. I am really worried about the state of each individual. This has been a hard year and it feels like client relationships have taken precedence over our employees. We pride ourselves on our service to our clients but recent changes have made expectations worse. We have been through a lot as an agency over the last few years including losing a founder, losing business, layoffs and now COVID impacts. Unfortunately, our dedication to our clients have started impacting coworkers directly which has hurt our company's culture. Usually, we are able to be supportive in office and keep one another in high spirits but we do not have that luxury. Hopefully management will start better setting expectations and giving our team members more realistic project deadlines and support. Our creative team/CMO seem to be the only ones allowed to push back (and even that can be a stretch). Hate posting this as this isn't the agency I know and love but I don't know where else to turn. I am sure we are not the only company dealing with this but I hate to see it. RT can do better.
