Values the unique contributions of diverse, global team
Pros
Retrotope is a tremendously progressive company that has long seen the potential is remote workers (even pre-COVID) and values the unique contribution of all staff. Personally, as one of 2 working parents with young children at home and a woman, I have always felt that Retrotope has valued the unique contribution that I make to the company from my perspective a mother (particularly important in the pediatric disease arena) and as a person with a background dealing with patients in a clinical setting (important for all diseases, especially degenerative diseases of aging). My “boss” has been particularly supportive, especially during COVID, allowing me to actually grow professionally in a time when many working moms are being forced to leave the workforce in droves due to school closures and so on.
Cons
Multiple projects and priorities with a small, but growing, team means that there are periods of intense pressure. But there is always a recognition of work and leadership encourages time to recover when deadline is met.
