Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Loved the work. Very well created systems to prevent from having to fix mistakes later. Some opportunities were presented.

Cons

Toxic work environment. People didn't bother to learn and maintain the well managed systems. Absolutely NO communication between departments who both work together and rely on each other to produce the correct information that gets passed on to customers. Manager delegated her responsibilities of managing and we were reviewed based on reports from other employees rather than your own work and interactions. Everyone was dispensable. Did NOT care about mental health. I disclosed a diagnosis I had and per ADA was not met with what I needed to perform to the best of my abilities.

No work life balance and poor management

Pros

Ability to work remotely, decent sign on bonus

Cons

1) No work life balance. You are expected to work overtime almost everyday and in many cases, the weekends. The problem stems from the fact that this company is understaffed. 2) Manager had behavioral issues (frequent mood swings). I have been yelled at for a slight misunderstanding I had. Yes, I made a mistake on my end, but the way she handled the situation was highly inappropriate. The role of a manager is to provide constructive criticism and encourage the employee to grow and improve. Overall, she was not very encouraging. 3) Short onboarding period. My specific role was listed as entry level and less than 3 months of training was provided (after factoring in the holidays). I agree that 3 months is reasonable for most companies. However, expecting the new hire to learn the ins and outs of the company, be fully independent, and take on the same responsibilities of the manager within that timespan is not realistic whatsoever. Is it not reasonable to provide 3 months for the new hire to learn as much as he/she can and then allow them to continue improving and ask questions after that period? If you absolutely love working long hours then this is the place for you. Otherwise, if you value work-life balance, then I would not recommend Relation.
