Toxic work environment. Choose another firm to work for.

Pros

If you don’t value your friends and family then this job is the perfect job for you because many times it is expected that you work between 55 and 65 hours a week and get paid for 40 hours. Also, sometimes you’ll get a free lunch because they're provided at the frequent mandatory lunch meetings. Mandatory lunch meetings are meetings that upper management does not want to negatively affect your billable hours. So many times your lunch is taken away from you.

Cons

Very toxic work environment. Very incompetent and nasty supervisors and management. Most of the management is only out for themselves and when a project goes well they will take all the credit. However if a project goes south management will look to blame any of the junior staff. The junior staff will usually get in trouble even though they are the ones who did all the real work and stayed the late hours. I agree with the review that an employee wrote on July 28, 2015 – “Management seems to think that they can throw a body (anybody) at a task and manage their way to success.” Even if it is an intern or junior engineer. The result ends up being that the intern or junior engineer, even though they asked for help and weren’t provided any, they still get a demerit and sometimes terminated. If you work here be very cautious who you work with because there are several nasty manipulative managers that will not bat an eye before they burn you if it might help them look good. Lot of deception, lying and backstabbing.

Pros

Good hard working design staff. Various environmental projects to work on.

Cons

You work for a tyrant who is more concerned about growing his company than his employees. Very stressful environment at times due to pressure put on staff by the owner and his but kissing managers. Managers are lazy finger pointers. Young staff gets beat up by management that take all credit at good times and blame staff when a project fails due to their poor management.

Pros

Employees are not heavily penalized for failing to meet their utilization target that is assigned by their direct supervisor. There is plenty of available prime office space to choose from for new hires.

Cons

It is likely that you may be heavily criticized for doing your best possible work as a junior engineer, which is taking the workload off your senior engineer mentors, when you really are trying to advance your career and expertise while at the same time assist your mentors.
