I'm happy in my role and in the organisation as a whole, but I definitely don't take this for granted. I have direct experience of other managers in other parts of the organisation, and I know that their management style is extremely damaging. The pressure is unreasonable, the demands aren't achievable and I have seen so many valuable staff (particularly middle managers) leave due to stress.
This has been happening for years, with the same small group of senior leaders who seem to be causing this problem. They hold an awful lot of power and influence, and place unreasonable demands on the middle managers below them.
I agree with previous reviewers who have pointed out that the situation doesn't seem to change, despite HR repeatedly being made aware through brave employees who speak up.
But HR is not a confidential place to speak, either. I have witnessed HR managers sharing confidential information with other employees. In conclusion, these senior managers appear to be untouchable, and the retention problem will never be resolved unless this is addressed.
