Pros

None at all. I have been in Nursing for 20+ years and have never been so disgusted with an employer.

Cons

Everything you read here about the inflexibility, not allowed to use the bathroom, and general hostility is absolutely correct. I was absolutely floored when they were laughing and snickering while telling us (NURSING PROFESSIONALS) that we had to be sensitive when asking people about STD's or other health topics that could be embarrassing for them. We are professionals, we KNOW how to be compassionate. You obviously do not. Go work in the field for a while and learn something. The other incident that pushed me over the edge was training to take calls and having them stage a mock call to test us. They basically role played the most obnoxious, demeaning caller you can imagine (we were aware it was staged) while openly laughing and enjoying the trainees pain in trying to deal with it. They drove several trainees to TEARS in the abuse they heaped on them. This is their idea of "orientation"

Pros

The one pros is that you have paid holidays off, and casual dress on Fridays.

Cons

if you're not a part of the cool crowd you will never advance within the company, rules and regulations only apply to those outside of this crowd, upper management only hires friends and family and therefore no one will ever advance and/or grow within this this company. Don't waste your time bringing up this issue to HR as they are already aware and simply don't care. Also, never bring any of this up to anyone in management and or HR or you will be the next one fired for miscellaneous reason.

RSA Medical Response
10y
The theme of your posting is very focused on the hiring of family or friends so I will focus the response on that as well. It is no secrete this company was started by one individual and I would definitely say we have a family atmosphere here (in that we do have some within the same family that work here and in that the majority of the employees feel like family and would do what family does to help each other). Out of the hundreds of employees that work for RSA Medical, there are only a handful of people that are actually related. These relatives have all been employed by RSA Medical for a very long time and are dedicated hard working individuals. Just because they are related does not diminish the contributions they make to the organization nor does it allow them not to contribute. As for the friends, I can give my own experience on this topic; I knew no one from RSA Medical before I was hired. No relatives or friends but now feel that the people I work with are my very close friends now. We have been to each others houses, know each others children and would do anything to help each other as much as we can. I hope that as you continue to work at RSA Medical, you will also find that type of connection and friendship with your co-workers.

Pros

Everyone else is miserable and misery loves company. Covered parking. Easy interstate access to leave quickly. Bar across the parking lot. The most important pro is the giant feeling of relief walking out the door on the final day.

Cons

Call center environment, micro managing, non stop emails on program changes, you can't even keep them straight. Then when you do something wrong they're quick to point out that an email noting the change went out 2 weeks ago...after the changes in the emails 3, 4, and 5 weeks prior to that of course. They push multiple programs on you, telling you how much more important it makes you to the company only to have more errors to be noted in auditing of those additional programs, thus more emails from multiple managers telling you about more previous emails detailing your errors....
