Pros

The culture and the non management employees are great.

Cons

Low pay, undervalued. The supervisors don’t have the discretion to make Decisions. You can be a top performing employee and get a call that your child was in a car accident 30 minutes before your shift ends on a slow day- and will be told if you have to leave fine but you get an attendance point? I didn’t have very many emergencies in the several years that I was there, but these kind of scenarios continue with multiple team leads and supervisors to other employees. Also most customer service jobs in the industry start out at around $15 hour, they just recently began offering $11to$12 to new employees! To put that in perspective- White Castle starts at$13 hour with benefits. RDI will spend huge amount of money on company picnics when most workers are on food stamps because of the low pay, when the $100,000 picnic budget could be much better served by canceling the picnic and dividing that amount as Christmas/yearly bonuses to your staff for continuing to work for low wages. Most employees who have been there for years don’t even make $15 hour so you will make less than other csr jobs.

Pros

The immediate people you work with a great. Training is OK, but not great. Schedule is fairly flexible.

Cons

Pay is terrible Upper management sucks. You need to be part of the good ole boys club with the CEO to really move up the company chain. They often fail to provide the tools or guidance needed to succeed, then blame it on you. They pretend that they care about you with their EllWell program, but they don't actually give a damn. I believe that the people in the program care quite a bit, but not management. Don't be fooled. You are a tool that is used until you are no longer needed. The company also conducts some very shady business practices and will ask/tell you to do things that are unsavory and illegal.

Pros

Great for high school kids.

Cons

They do not pay their employees if they decide to go elsewhere. They cut your hours short but complain if you do not want to work overtime on their watch. I would never recommend this job to anyone it's not worth the hassle and definitely not worth the pay.
