Pros

- AMAZING co-workers - Exposure to clients and c-suite execs - Experience for CV - Location in Dublin

Cons

- Overtime work for no extra pay, expectation to work early and/or late for deadlines regularly, but they will tell you it will only happen rarely during reporting months - If you are a hard worker it is repaid with more and more work, rather than a pay rise or benefits - Fake transparency- no accountability from the top - Inability to take time off 4 of the 12 months per annum for reporting months - Company now requires all Irish staff to work 3 bank holidays and they don't give days in lieu within the legal time-frame; gross violation of labour law in many areas - Company does not have an acceptance or appreciation for Irish culture/work culture, operates like a satellite US office and expects Irish staff to act accordingly - Will still pressure you to work on bank holidays even if you can't, the company has been in Ireland for a number of years and still has not hacked covering for bank holidays (unacceptable) - Pay is terrible, barely a living wage, the company gave a base pay rise company-wide last year (3K) and used this to not give our regular annual raises - CEO is having a laugh, Sr. Operations are not supportive, favouritism is rampant. CEO uses offensive language often. - Information and skills are gatekept, gatekeeping is a key tactic for leadership and good ideas are often passed over for ones that do nothing productive - Bad leadership from the top down, company unwilling to bring in more Sr. Staff with real-world and career experience to fix clear issues in company structure -Company needs more diverse leadership, a more diverse board, and actual decision makers

Thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were consistently working long hours. That is not what we want to be the norm. We have made changes to the operational structure and have added client resources to help ease the burden on the team.

Pros

Exposure to Clients & Executives – Analysts gain direct exposure to high-level clients and executives, which is uncommon for entry-level roles. This can be a valuable learning experience early in your career. Diverse Industry & Skill Exposure – PublicRelay works with a broad range of industries, allowing analysts to develop expertise in different fields. The role provides hands-on experience in data analytics, client engagement, and project management, helping to build strong resume credentials early on. Collaborative Analyst Team – The analysts are friendly, supportive, and great to work with, creating a positive team environment despite operational challenges. Flexible Work – Besides deadlines with fixed timelines, the nature of the work allows for great flexibility, especially on remote work days. Supportive Team Lead – My line manager genuinely advocated for my best interests, ensuring support and opportunities for growth.

Cons

Culture of Overwork Without Fair Compensation – With new senior management, there has been a shift toward an American-style “exceeding expectations” culture, where analysts are subtly pressured to take on extra work without additional pay. If personal boundaries are not set, senior management will expect employees to overwork in hopes of a promotion that is not guaranteed and that offers minimal salary increases. Lack of Transparency in Hiring & Career Growth – Promotion processes are unclear, with advertised positions sometimes being retracted without explanation. Growth opportunities have diminished, as any promotion beyond the analyst level requires becoming a "Senior Media Analyst" first. This has created a bottleneck, where 20+ people often compete for just 1-2 promotions every 1-2 years. Despite raising these concerns, management has not provided a clear response or solution. Promotions have also previously been influenced by new clients signing on, which provides an unpredictable growth path and no certainty for advancement, regardless if you go "above and beyond" in your work. Operational Underinvestment & Resource Constraints – Financial constraints disproportionately affect operations teams, which remain understaffed and underpaid. Since COVID, there has been only one round of raises (~2.6%), yet the company continues to invest in high-profile events and executive dinners to maintain appearances, as one can see on LinkedIn. Even small perks, such as monthly office lunches, have been cut due to "budget reasons."

Pros

Analyst team are great to work with and create a good atmosphere in spite of the toxic work culture.

Cons

Basic pay is not liveable, overtime is not acknowledged but is expected with four months of the year blocked off from vacations and 10-12 hour days expected in each of these for reporting. Team leads are an embarrasment bringing no skills to the job and acting only as a buffer for the operations management. CEO is a caricature who opened the Irish offices for tax purposes and cost savings. If you want to advance your career, learn new skills or have a personal life, this is not the company for you.
