The only reason the school is successful is because administration relies on teachers going above and beyond. If you try to set a boundary they don’t listen and don’t respect you. Work life balance is not a thing at Proctor Academy. The salary is awful as well. $43,000 is not enough to live on and yes you can have housing, but there’s no way to move up in life. The budget is doing so poorly and I can’t imagine that will change soon. To be honest the whole place is like a cult where alumni come back to be teachers so there isn’t a lot of outside perspective valued. If you don’t drink the koolaid, it’s hard to survive here.
