Pros

- Praemium's core product is positioned well and is currently inside the industry trend - Praemium has a very small subset of people who desperately worked to achieve it's (unrealised) potential - If you are offered share options as a bonus or reward the share price is doing well - Beers on a Friday

Cons

- At Praemium there is no HR business function at all, all people-based decisions are financially driven as all employee operations fall under finance. This leads to experiences such as not honouring public holidays and not compensating for international travel time on weekends - Praemium's pay is on the lower end of the curve, in my experience offering 20-25% less than what would be considered competitive. - Poorly executed strategic goals. Company goals were quite often shared or circulated amongst staff however no expectations or commitments would change once circulated, so ultimately nothing was enacted, and thus nothing changed - Extremely top heavy, there was a recruitment wave before I left employing multiple senior managers while development and technical staff were stretched very thin - While Praemium's core product is positioned well that's because they were one of the first in the space, they are slow to innovate and are being outpaced by competitor entry - Low key bullying, due to the absence of HR and limited accountability there were some very interesting harassment tactics employed by some senior managers in the UK

Pros

Their product is in a rapidly growing industry

Cons

They are understaffed, the new people who come in really want to do good work but quickly realize they can't due to massive staffing restrictions. This rapidly demotivates people leading to high staff turnover. If the companies core industry was not experiencing extensive growth at the moment they would not be doing well. Competitors are quickly catching up and will surpass them soon due to lack of innovation. Salary is no where near competitive, no training opportunities and no focus on culture. No rewards for good work

Pros

Maybe a good experience for less experienced hires (too many under-experienced people in the company) anybody with a solid cv will not improve it by working here

Cons

Under resourced Same issues every 6 months Bad morale Does not look like turning a profit in next 5 years
