Pros

Not a single pros about this company. Stay away from it

Cons

Populus is not Teksystems neither they are under the same company group. They say they are sister concern of Teksystems but for H1b, you are still contracting through a vendor in between that is Teksystems. If you have a layer of third party, you will end up working multiple layers and your pay will be crap. There are no benefits in this company. Only option is to buy obamacare and you pay everything from your pocket. Their benefit is nothing but you pay everything from you pocket policy that covers nothing. There is no bench and you always have two layers that is 30% Teksystems and 20% Populus. Also, no financial institutions will hire you as they are not certified vendor when contracting with Populus as it becomes third party. Marketing is all what you do when you are on bench. There legal advisors have no idea on what they are advising. They will scare you with out any knowledge. Stay away from this company if you are looking for h1b sponsorship.

Populus is a cult

Pros

They give you money and a job

Cons

This company is a cult at it's core. From they way they make you act, the books they make you read and the culture (Also keep in mind they literally make you drink "the Kool-Aid". They leave their problems up to you and all have the mindset that your problems are yours and yours alone. Please, go look for another location and don't accept anything from the Populus Group.

Pros

Pretty good perks the pay is on the lower side, but they try and compensate in other ways birthday and two celebration days off full coffee and tea bar work from home light and upbeat atmosphere

Cons

Cliques! Cliques! Cliques! This is one of the shadiest places I have ever worked at. They throw "trust" around a lot but does absolutely nothing to deserve the trust of the climbers. When you screw up something you get care-fronted and brought into countless meetings, but when you try to bring up something they've done then you get blacklisted and ignored or avoided. This place has such great potential but some the people working in the lisle office are out of their minds. HR is a joke and the biggest clique I've ever seen. They are useless and most of the gossip comes from there . The payroll side is a miserable side to be on and they make sure you never forget. My direct manager was cool--but that's about it. The expectations and long hours are ridiculous. The best way to own your climb is to climb OUT of PG. Horrible work life balance. Gossiping adult "teenagers" every where! Management has their favorites and picks and chooses who gets to be leaders but does absolutely nothing to make sure they are effective leaders. The president claims to care, and for the most part it seems like he does--so you can imagine how baffling it was to see the lisle office in such chaos. 19 hour days are a frequent thing here and it is often through no fault of your own.
