Pros

Supportive, smart colleagues and a genuinely collaborative culture. Strong learning opportunities in a fast‑growing EV brand that’s competing with new entrants like BYD and Zeekr, so the work is dynamic and commercially interesting.

Cons

The brand strategy has created confusion about Polestar’s positioning as a premium product, particularly when heavy discounting is used, which can undermine the intended ‘luxury’ perception in the market. Pay and benefits are also constrained, with limited budget for competitive increases or meaningful perks; the most recent merit review delivered only a 2% increase, which many employees – myself included – found demotivating. Career progression opportunities are limited, as the focus has often been on short‑term fixes to past strategic issues rather than building a clear long‑term people and capability plan
