Pros

There is a standard across the board for all inspectors. Great report software. Great inspections every time.

Cons

Waist of money to buy a franchise. They do not help you at all. You have to charge more per inspection to pay your franchise fees. It prices you out of business. Do it yourself for 1/3 the cost. Most people are not looking for quality, they want a cheap inspection.

Pros

Flexibility of owning your own business. Work when you want or take time off as you need to.

Cons

The start up cost are almost double what they quote you. Ongoing fees are around 10000 a year minimum and go up as you do more business. There is no guidance or direction for when starting out.

decent environment would have had benefits after 6 months

Cons

trained my replacement without knowing was "let go" because i wrote a letter to a friend during about a 2 hour "slow" moment
