Pros

At first it seems like a good job. It is not, do not be fooled by the recruiter.

Cons

Everything, the pay is below industry standard (Again, do not believe the recruiter. He is the same man that will reply to this review negatively, if he replies at all) the "State of the art vehicles" are dodge caravans with over 150,000 miles on them. Fixing them comes out of your pocket and will only be reimbursed after 90 days of employment. You are not trained in Chicago, they say this to seem more attractive you are actually trained in Elgin. A mostly rural area with very little GPS assistance. Again, do not believe the man who replies to this review. If you look through all of the other reviews, you will see that all of the ones that are positive receive responses like "Oh thank you for your kind and fair words" but anytime anyone offers one iota of possible criticism it is met with extreme backlash from him. Stay away from companies that are unable to accept any sort of criticism.

Oh thank you for your kind and fair words. Just kidding. To start, I do respond to all reviews and I am not sure what your criticism is here. Do you want me to argue with people who are writing positive reviews? If you actually review all that is written on this website you will find that there are negative reviews that I do agree with. I AGREE WITH ALL REVIEWS THAT TELL THE TRUTH! This is not one of them. Our pay is in line with industry standards and the cost that you would have to maintain and insure your own vehicle to do this job is calculated into our pay when compared to other companies. We reimburse weekly and all vehicle repairs are reimbursed weekly. Your transportation to the Chicagoland area is the only cost that comes out of your pocket that you are reimbursed for after 90 days from the date of training. I am upfront about this in my interviews. So there are lies #1 and #2 in the above review. I tell everyone they are trained in the "Chicagoland area" which is true because if I told everyone Elgin, IL area they would have no idea where I was talking about. It is easier to say Chicagoland area which is why I do not say Chicago when recruiting, I say Chicagoland area which is lie #3 in the above review. I am open and able to accept criticism, in fact, PhotoFax has made many changes over the years due to feedback from employees. This is a fact. I do not have the luxury of anonymity when writing comments on this site unlike our reviewer above. Studies show it is easy for anonymous reviewers and commenters on websites to be dishonest and negative when they know their identity will be hidden. For example above, there are 3 blatant lies in the review above. You can choose to believe me or not believe me, but the ANONYMOUS reviewer above is not being honest. If you would like to contact me regarding this job, you will find me to be very upfront about every aspect of the job. Negative or positive. Thanks!

Pros

The initial interest and excitement from recruitment was nice.

Cons

Pretty much got thrown under the bus. This is one of those jobs that if you don't "seem" like your as determined as they think you should be they terminate your employment. I was on my way to the first day of training and got lost on the way to their remote training location, (if you look it up is on a side road with what looks like one residential house). After that they placated me by saying it was no big deal and that I could start training on a different day. Next thing I know they have terminated me, taken no responsibility, and I couldn't even get them to reimburse me for all the registration and licensing fees that I had to go through for their program. Overall, terrible investment in employees and a last ditch job offer.

First of all, I want to make it clear that this is a review from a person who admittedly never actually worked for us. This candidate was expected to be at our office at 9:00am on the Monday he was supposed to start. Our office is located on a major US highway, not a remote road, it is clearly marked and there are other popular businesses from the area on the same property. He e-mailed us at 10:30am that day with a story about dropping his phone in the toilet and not being able to find our office even though he claims he was right down the street. When we asked him to come the next day, he could not confirm that he would make it. Instead he said, "I will try". We have an extensive training program, we do take the time to care for our new hires and invest in them more than most other PI companies will. This job takes determination, dedication, and the basic ability to find locations when given the address. Also, I would have been more than happy to address our concerns through a phone call, but his phone was in the toilet, so we had to e-mail. This review is technically libel as the statement about our location being on a side road with one residential house is not true at all. Please read all reviews with a grain of salt as Glass Door clearly does not confirm the validity of statements made.

Pros

1- good pay for starters as well as really good pay for people who stay there for long time from what I've seen. They value their experienced agents. 2-good transitional job into a federal position 3-good if you like driving 4-ok benefits 5-really nice people who work there, other experienced agents are always extremely helpful if you ask them questions as a new guy

Cons

This job will be hard for you if you: 1-Highly value your social life. This job is a social life killer. 2-not an aggressive driver. tailing people in vehicles is gonna be something you will have to get used to and be good at. 3-dont like driving for long distances constantly. This is the nature of this job, driving for long distances is normal. 4-Dont like a schedule thats all over the place. Sometimes you work from from 7 am-3 pm, other days you work from like 12 pm to 8 pm. 5-Dont like, for example, waking up at 3 am to travel to a case that's 2 hours away. This is something somewhat common as well, depending on your states.
