9% of US workers laid off today

Pros

Vacation time starts at 19 days

Cons

Today the company laid off 9% of all US workers because the company did not meet their yearly goals, even after telling us our jobs were safe. Not only did they fire the wrong people, but upper management didn't even consult the managers for who they were laying off. The office morale was at an all-time low today and it was a very tense atmosphere. I am betting the company loses another 9% to people leaving after this. I am certainly out the first chance I get.

Pros

- Some good people with decent souls who try to make the best of a disgusting situation with a positive outlook - Turns out I was not the only one with a poor experience based on these Glassdoor reviews - Gave me an opportunity to realize that I deserved to be treated like a human being and not a robot

Cons

Terrible leadership with an infectious bullying mentality. They don’t care if teams are understaffed or how much you’re suffering. You will be expected to run back to back meetings without lunch breaks or bathroom breaks. You will be expected to become a substitute Associate director, account manager, analysts, billing, etc whatever they lack and need you to be. You will endure a long battle with upper management in an effort to get team members the proper compensation and/or merit raise for their work. Meanwhile, if you speak up about the issues, “leadership” will only blame you as if you’re the incompetent one. They will not respond politely to your attempted solutions and when you reach work burnout, the response given was to “work more hours”. It should be noted that I’ve worked back to back Sundays consecutively and even gave up my Thanksgiving dinnertime to work. I’ve also devoted late night hours just to cover the gaps on our team and “leadership” has done nothing to help. It is quite a thankless job that you will be slapped around for because leadership has no idea what’s even happening on their own teams. Extremely toxic culture that I’ve never experienced in my decade of a career until now. If Performics comes knocking on your door, be sure to lock the dead bolt and don’t open that door. Caveat: not ALL of leadership are terrible souls but those who are will stop at nothing to inflate their own egos instead of taking the time to listen to their teams in order to solve problems.
