Very Poor Work Environment

Pros

I'm happy I no longer work here.

Cons

Management is only concerned about reaching quotas, overcharging residents with fines and making money. They take advantage of college students by hiring them and paying them low wages. The management was very unprofessional and immature. They didn't appreciate the hard work of the employees and at times were completely disrespectful and demeaning. I also noticed unethical practices to reach lease quotas. They have lied and made false promises to get people to sign contracts. They also made me solicit people on a competitor's property. I ended up getting in trouble and I had to get myself out of the situation.

Pros

The office parties, benefits.

Cons

Where do I start. You will be underpaid, overworked and very underappreciated. This company hires 20 year olds to manage their apartment buildings. They, in turn, will hire their friends and others of the same mentality. Professionalism does not exist. You are treated like a piece of garbage. Of my 10 plus years in a corporate setting, this has been the worst work environment I've ever worked for. I left a job I absolutely loved because I was made a variety of promises. I was written up numerous times and then threatened as well. HR is located in Atlanta and is unable to truly view what happens in offices throughout the United States. Corporate swings by the office once every other month and will ignore all of the leasing agents. I am called all hours of the day and night. I am screamed at due to consistent changes made to policy, spreadsheets, etc. My job has consistently been threatened by individuals who are uneducated. This company cares about money, not people. This company also has failed to follow Fair Housing by making promises to ensure individuals sign leases. I was forced to make a positive review on this site after my hire and also other sites as well. If you notice, all "current employees" will say they love peak. The truth of the matter lies within what the "former employees" state. I have also been forced to charge exuberant cleaning charges for any tenants who opted to forgo resigning a lease. They have also continued to charge individuals checking and savings account despite the fact their recurring payments gave a specific end date. This company has an "F" rating on the Better Business Bureau. This should tell you everything you need to know.

Pros

Peak Campus is a great company. I love the culture, the policies, the people, and all of our properties! It's always a challenge. I love being able to move to different properties in different states in different positions. I've been with the company for almost 5 years and I love each and every day I'm here! The hardest part of the job is being able to juggle all of the hats you wear each day. Some days you might be at a housing fair and others you might be troubleshooting on the property or conducting your monthly file audits or prepping for a resident event. The key is prioritizing and staying organized. Ask for help if you need it! I have had many different managers which has taught me to work WITH people - not against or FOR. I never felt like I was working for one single person, but instead TOWARDS a goal! Work here if you love challenges, a great company culture, and a home office that actually cares when you have a problem. The real money is in the bonuses - so lease up and you'll be golden.

Cons

I would have to say that sometimes things come home with you. For me at least, I struggle holding that work-life balance.

Thank you for your review! I feel so honored to work alongside associates that have such authenticity and passion for what they do. Thank you for your years of service and thank you for the differences you have made to our company over the past 5 years. The Leasing Manager position is one of the most challenging, tough, and yet fun and rewarding positions out there. We encourage you to keep working on your work life balance. Again, thank you for all that you do and have done. #onwardandupward
