Pros

The people who work here are the best. We are hard working and care about each other. You won't meet friendlier people. Benefits are good. Free health insurance available if you're single, and 3% contribution to 401k with an additional matched 3%. New Springfield building looks nice.

Cons

Ever since we "partnered" with Legacy, working at PacificSource has become more and more stressful. Sales goes out and gets more membership while the rest of us are expected to make miracles happen to get the features and systems they promised up and running, usually with little warning and no input from us. Our systems are outdated and ill-maintained because all of our time is spent creating new functionality. Our leadership seems more interested in growing and making money than ever before, but salaries have become stagnant (we get a max 3% merit raise every year, which barely keeps up with inflation). We're understaffed and drowning in work. Leadership acts like they care; they hold meetings to be transparent and ask for feedback from us, but when you give honest opinions it falls on deaf ears. If you want to advance, make friends with upper management. Otherwise there will be some subjective requirement to fulfill, and no matter how well you perform, you won't fill it. People are leaving left and right. And this isn't turnover, these are senior people who have had their fill with the way PacificSource is treating it's employees. I thought we were in it for the people, but maybe we're just in it for the money.

Pros

Good benefits package, including generous vacation time. CEO is down to earth and overall approachable. Mission and Values are great on paper, but not necessarily being followed by all. Growing company. Nice facilities. Recent Leadership Institute may help with previous reviews about bad management. Wellness initiatives. Good reputation in the industry. Employee meetings give a great visual of financials.

Cons

Leadership a bit top heavy and they are not all "rowing in the same direction" so to speak. Previous reviews are accurate, there is negativity in all areas and it is allowed by management. Instances of Executives throwing teams under a bus to save face. The work gets piled on to those who take it on, and there is not much monetary recognition for your efforts. It appears they do not pay according to workload and it does not seem appealing to move up the ladder due to work and stress. Many teams at odds and are not reminded that they are one team working toward common goal. Some favorites are allowed to not work as hard or not even show up consistently. HR is slow to pick the employees out that need to go that are poison to the environment, and this includes some upper management. So much stress its bad for health. There is still some "good ole' boy" mentality going on with certain managers' hiring practices. No longer premier company work for due to toxicity and stress. Most line staff are doing the best they can to keep up, but at a larger cost to job satisfaction and health.

Pros

Free health insurance and not one other thing

Cons

Uneducated managers whose prior career paths do not support any management positions. Team leads and managers are hired without any education, without any desire to be educated and without any leadership skills. You are treated like a child, spoken down to and micromanaged in such a way that going to work everyday is challenging. Backstabbing is the norm, and when employees move from Bend to Boise, they are immediately promoted which bolsters their small minded horrendous work ethic, and unbelievably embarrassing, nonprofessional, clothing. If you think a job in this department is for you, attempt to remember that you will be treated disrespectfully, challenged on your ethics as a good person, and have to deal with women who cannot write nor speak in a professional manner. The employee is always treated like they are wrong and it does not matter that members treat you horrendously on the phone, and you are not allowed to stand up for yourself. You also will not every have any input on how to improve anything in this department. Also, if you complain you will get a corrective action and will be blackballed.
