Great if you like micromanagement and 70 hour week

Pros

Great coworkers, free lunch on Friday, nice office, yearly retreat at nice resort.

Cons

No long-term vision so directives change constantly. No work-life balance. Work week of 70 hours is common and people often have to work when on vacation, so the good pay does not matter. Managers do not know how to manage people because they are promoted for technical skills not management skills. CEO refuses to listen to differing points of view and believes his way is the only way to do things. Everyone is afraid of upsetting him so nobody says anything to contradict him. Employees are micromanaged and every decision must go through him, no matter how small. Employee concerns are dismissed as "complaints." They are told they are acting entitled and their concerns are never seriously considered.

The Perks Don't Out Weigh the Cons

Pros

Kind, generous and welcoming colleagues. So many bright and passionate people. Great snacks, free Friday lunches, great health benefits. Beautiful offices.

Cons

Nepotism. Authoritarian attitudes. High turnover. Too often management depends on fear to motivate people. A high percentage of employees are in the US on visas and there continual fear of deportation should they make a misstep. People were fired for no good reason with little warning. Sexual harassment went virtually unaddressed. Lots of talk of it being a "family" but that mostly meant they felt they had the right to keep you from going home to your family. 50 hour work week minimum, but most seem to work 70-80.

Pros

Really a good place to work : - If you want to work all day with lots of code but with no quality and learning - If you do not have a family or planning for a divorce

Cons

The CEO always talks about distributing the stocks but never does. Nepotism all around with promotions of people who licks higher management's boots.
