Pros

Good pay, brand new ideas and technologies, tremendous market potential.

Cons

Unbelievably unprofessional immature management across all areas of the company. I worked very hard in my role which I had many years of experience. I had a lot of excitement working at what I thought was going to be a cutting edge company hiring the best talent. My excitement was short lived. Executive after executive fired without warning. I had my concerns but I kept working as hard as I could, more than I ever had to keep up. I thought I was making a difference and many colleagues appreciated my work and effort. Then all of a sudden I am told my employment is terminated. No warning, nothing gave me any inclination my work was not good, just “you’re fired”. HR tried to spin it like ai had it coming but it was BS as nothing was in writing leading up to it. I felt so betrayed. Lot of big egos just wanted me gone because they think they’re smarter than everyone else. Because this was handled so poorly I could have made it very uncomfortable for the company but I took the high road as karma does come back to bite which is already happening. Probably one of the unprofessional environments that is taking some risks on how they let people go.

Pros

Was at the center of a rapidly growing industry with the potential to scale.

Cons

Lack of leadership, strategic clarity, and management led to an unclear internal vision and unclear strategic alignment of teams. The narrative in weekly All Hands never indicated we were near layoffs. Layoffs unfortunately were inhumanely handled with no clarity or structure. Those left in the company were confused and unsure of future plans. Many promises made. Many promises not followed up.

Pros

Many super kind, brilliant people Good compensation for a startup

Cons

The kind, brilliant people are tormented by terrible leadership. Leadership has no idea what they are doing. Micromanages at every step and leads by fear.
