I only lasted 5 weeks at Oak Tree, for the following reason; It targets the vulnerable. I've worked in numerous sales roles and the most important thing is that you believe in the product.
Oak Tree sell overpriced, sub quality furniture and as such I simply could not carry out this job in good faith. The script you use specifically asks you to lie, with both office and field agents expected to pressure the elderly. I legitimately struggled to sleep some nights.
If you have no problem with this, then Oak Tree is a good place to earn a bit of money in an informal office.
On another note, though I think this was a case of crossed wires, I once had a seizure before work. If you have/know someone who has seizures, you will be aware of the confusion that follows a seizure. I tried calling my boss, and called a receptionist to explain what had happened. A few hours later I had a slightly snarky call from one of my bosses, and even having explained the seizure they were not particularly sympathetic.
