Pros

You will meet some great people. The keyword here is "some".

Cons

This company is horrible and I am not sure where to start... Let's start with the work. This company will work you like a slave; you will be expected to stay past 5 PM and you will be looked down upon if you leave before 6 PM. If you leave before 6 PM often then that will affect your year-end bonus even if you finish all your work on time. You will be dumped tons of work without proper training, the phrase upper management often use is "sink or swim". That being said, the upper management doesn't care about their employees. Regardless of your workload, they will dump more onto you and expect you to finish everything. All the benefits are just not worth it compare to what you will experience at the company. Now onto culture, there is NO work-life balance. In addition to the abysmal hours, office politics and favoritism runs rampant in the work-place. Because so many employees are family members or friends referred by other employees, nepotism is an integral part of the company. Moving up is nearly impossible because upper management loves to hire from the outside. Other people can do less work than you but still rewarded better than you. If you ever feel like someone doesn't like you then you are probably correct. Upper management has turned bottom levels into a dog-eat-dog world where employees fight amongst themselves. In conclusion, this company is a venus fly trap and it will make you very very unhappy. Much like the company's products, MerchSource is nothing but a bad experience wrapped up in pretty packaging.

Pros

Having worked in a few different environments (government, large corporation, small consulting firm), I have a strong appreciation for the environment here. While it is a demanding workplace (high expectations for work quality and dedication), those demands are balanced very well by a supportive, friendly, team-oriented, family-like culture. The founding partners are still very involved, with lots of contact with all employees. They take very seriously annual reviews and use them as an opportunity to help grow people and build careers. I now work in a different department than the one I started in, as we realized that there were other areas better suited for my personality/skills/ambitions. This hands-on management and creative flexibility is a big part of creating loyalty and success. The company has grown quite a bit over the past five years, and that is exciting and has created new opportunities for everyone. Even with that success, senior leaders have a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to lead by example and ensure that newer folks get the support they need. Five years in, and I've never thought about looking elsewhere!

Cons

The business has a heavy busy season that hits different departments at different times. Those periods can be quite demanding when you go through them. But other departments always rally to provide support and the periods pass quickly, with far less demanding ones taking their place.

Pros

Cool creative tech office design, but it's all smoke and mirrors

Cons

High turnover. Zero training. Unrealistic timeframes. Understaffed and overworked employees. Many employees claim they suffer from anxiety due to long hours and an unrealistic expectations. Overall, a very unprofessional environment with no defined processes in place. It's a sink or swim environment.
