Pros

Post-pandemic, None. Pre-pandemic and prior to VP of Claims Mr. Lee leaving; especially, that of Mr. Fager, the atmosphere was pleasant. Despite the existence of the Old Boys Club, it was less toxic for those who didn’t fit the stereotype. There was a definite look to whom were provided opportunities for advancement and a very obvious glass ceiling for those who didn’t (which still exists). There is no true diversity amongst its leadership, Board members, internal medical reviewers, Human Resources or its Legal team ( 1 tan- skinned female is not true representation).

Cons

None if you’re the type to throw your colleagues under the bus so you could get ahead; steamroll over others because you have no backbone to stand up for what is right; thrive on being petty, play the politics; and to be jealous of people who have a skill set—and prefer to criticize rather than encourage them with positive affirmations (oppose to continuing a false and sadistic management style). Unfortunately MLMIC was a company that had potential and is now crumbling under extremely poor management.

Pros

Many holidays off (Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, etc. besides the usuals); The company picks up a good share of the medical and dental benefits, early Fridays in the summer and early closing before most holidays. Company match (up to a certain percent) 401K; Profit sharing.

Cons

Management HIGHLY favors men over women. Men move up extremely fast in the company, while women move in "baby steps". Major communication break down between management and staff. Some times claims managers don't even know what the more senior managers want done! Allow certain manager to be a bully - I have heard numerous comments from people in this manager's group on how they are threatened with their jobs constantly.

Pros

You get to work from home

Cons

Recently increased work hours, took away sick days, and removed several holidays. Some people did get some more vacation days to compensate.
