The spirit of Measured Progress is dead and gone

Pros

It used to be a great company with a lot of spirit. We all wanted to contribute to the bottom line. It was about an assessment tool that mattered. It was about student learning. It was about customer service. It was about being the "little firm that could". It was about being flexible. It was about being relevant. It was about knowing our niche in the market and celebrating it. It was about being the company that Dept's of Education loved and wanted to work with. It was about camaraderie. It was about understanding we all had a function that was important. It was about working as a team.

Cons

All that is gone. It's about money. It's not about the assessment tool, it's about the delivery of it. It's not about student learning, it's about the next new shiny thing. It's not about customer service, it's about selling the customer something they didn't ask for. It's not about the "little firm that could", it's about the "little firm that wants to act like a big firm. It's not about being flexible, it's about change orders and who's to blame. It's not about our niche in the market, it's about ignoring that and wanting to compete with the big players. It's not about Dept's of Education that want to work with us, it's about telling them what they need. It's not about camaraderie, it's about finger pointing when things go wrong. it's not about understanding we all had a function, it's about your function is getting in the way of my work. It's not about a team, it's about finger pointing and blaming someone else for the problems.

Ghost of it's former self

Pros

Great people who really care about colleagues, students, and teachers

Cons

No leadership. Merger has introduced major instability with likely consolidation and move of all to Atlanta office. Only current state-contract related workers will remain in Dover, with consistent pressure to do more with less. It has been a slow death for MP, but the merger is the final nail in the coffin.

Walk Away, It Is Not Worth It!

Pros

Benefits, hard working low and mid-level employees

Cons

I had high hopes for this company and it was the worst job experience of my life. I took a large pay cut to work here because I was sold on advancement opportunities. Once I began working, I was told I only had enough experience to be hired, not promoted. I was given more and more work and watched all of my amazing, under valued co-workers drown. Many of them cried every day. I left of my own accord and for my own sanity.
