Pros

People and culture: The immediate colleagues are helping, whenever they have time. The work pressure is generally on the higher side only. The company has a culture of regular outings which boosts employee engagement. Work: You’ll always have something on your plate. There is a very good QA team. It is easy to switch between technologies.

Cons

Management: Given all this, one may observe quite a lot of micro-management in the company. Work: The requirements that come in are highly adhoc and they change rapidly, which in turn compromises the code quality. The timelines are generally tight. The deadlines are discussed internally between the manager and the QA team, and developers are not included in the same. I personally have observed that the ideas from the upper most management are not questioned at all, which limits the scope of imagination of the employees. Company policies: The company policies are not employee centric, for example the work from home is not available to all the employees, instead to management people. The company offers 10 days leaves of Diwali, but then also cancels many other leaves in and around that month. Also, all your Saturday office hours are not compensated every time. Offboarding: One may find it very difficult to resign from this company, as there are various blockers, like, one is entitled to serve a month’s notice period, but their notice period is extended to 45 days or so. One may not be relieved unless their replacement is found, hired and the KT rounds are all complete – and this option is very highly impractical and unprofessional. One’s notice period starts from resignation acceptance date instead of the day of resigning, which sometimes might differ by more than 2 days also. – This particular rule was told by my HR that it exists everywhere (not only at MangoApps). One may face high level of unprofessionalism when resigning, specially from the HR, as the discussion involves many personal questions. The company expects one to drop hints for their resignation instead of directly putting down the papers. Pay: The pay is not as per the market standards.

MangoApps Response

Hey, Thanx for the review... At MangoApps we are on a mission. A mission to create the best Enterprise App for a digital workplace. And like every mission ever undertaken, it's important for us to get the right team in place. A team with members that are motivated by the goal and a team that understands the importance and urgency of what we are trying to accomplish. Good quality work is guaranteed, you are free to make decisions and learn from your own mistakes. There definitely is freedom for those willing to step up and take ownership. Our processes our not guided by policies but more by common sense and empathy, which is how we feel it should be for a small team like ours. Work from home as a policy is applicable to parents to make it easier to balance work and home front. Wish you luck for your career ahead. Anjali Ghadge VP, HR

Pros

1. Salary better than industry standards. 2. Decent location and office space

Cons

1. Main problem of the company is the top management. A company can survive if the middle management sucks , but it's doomed when the top management is not good. Case here the management and the middle tier fail miserably. No vision for the company. 2. Any suggestions to company are taken personally. It is met with strong resistance . They refuse to acknowledge it . When an anonymous company survey was done and they received a bad feedback all the employees were called and mocked. Even Glassdoor bad feed backs were taken lightly and mocked. 3. Managers who are responsible for the product development have ZERO technical skills. Managers are made just cause one has been an obedient servant of the company with zero skills. Don't know basic technical skills and do not know how to talk to the team or handle client. Do not have any knowledge about product. 4. No scope to improve knowledge cause of point above. Managers are more bothered about getting quick temporary fixes than a permanent one. Old technologies used. No scope to try new technologies. Only a select few with no brains allowed to learn / try new things. One is barred from learning new things during office times. 5. This is a home run company. Management get their personal frustrations to work. 6. Rules here differ for management and normal employee. Management can go on holidays on the day of production pushes, where as a normal employee if ill or in hospital has to report to work. 7. Mental harassment prevails here. One is told to ignore if any work harassment. 8. Ones who do good work are shunned. Expectations are set with people who work well and they are the most mis treated people here. People who don't work at all are rewarded. Stay after 7 and work for half an hour and miss deadlines is considered better than working diligently the whole day and delivering on time. Leaving before 7 or at 7pm is a sin. Management send a mail quote " if the clock strikes 7pm does not mean you can leave" you if you leave on time. Cause of this the company has lost some of their best employees in quick succession in past 3 years. 9. No clarity in product development or requirements. These are decided at run time. The moto implement first, then let's decide . If they don't like it scrap it and build again all in same time frame. Reworks done just before of origin push. Quick hacks are encouraged. Fixes in production are encouraged. 10. People who have no technical knowledge define how one has to code, even if it's wrong they refuse to hear it out. 11. Egoistic people are filled here. Never have I seen so many people of the same kind at one place. 12. Don't know how to suck up to your managers. DON'T worry you will learn here. Office is filled with sycophants. Its an art here. Work matters less. 13. Favoritism is very high here. Appraisal and rules are defined on how well a sycophant one is. 14. No job security. 2 people are hired for job and after the 6 month probation one is fired. 15. Huge gender bias in the company. 16. Fixed timing no flexibility . Only a select people have this flexibility. The HR lies about this during joining. 17. HR is very rude as has no manners. They do not have any experience on people management. No hr policies. Policies are different for different people. 18. Non existent holidays. Only 15 leaves per year. This includes sick, personal , paid all. DON'T get fooled when the HR says there is a week off during Diwali. The office is made the compensate by working on Saturdays. Lesser than 10 public holidays. 19. All learning and HR activities are to be done after office hours or reduction in lunch timings. 20. Military timings. Fixed one hour lunch breaks. Timings are monitored. Cigarette breaks are allowed not coffee breaks. Don't get fooled by the Friday so called "happy hours" 21. Management sends mail saying they do not trust people and that employees DON'T Have common sense!!!!! 22. Company moto " all work and no play". Seems they have forgotten the other line. 23. No work life balance . Bachelor's who can work like donkeys preferred. 24.. High attrition rate. People stay for an average of less than 3 years. Over who stay longer are the ones with no brains and company favourite. Ones who have got too comfortable and refuse to learn. 25. No peace of mind here. Work is more important than personal well being Note : To whom so ever is planning to join the company and and confused by the mixed reviews make sure you enquire about the company through friends. You would soon realise all the bad reviews written for company are true.

Pros

there are so many - if you are in board of directors, you get to go to US trips, you also get selected as "employee of the year" ( sarcasm ) - if you are a regular employee you get to work a lot, you would rarely have to use your brains ( use it and face the wrath ) - The policies they have are fun to read, really amusing , every time you would go "Wow , is this company for real" - Senior HR is truly people( read mgmt people) HR, she has the best people skill I have ever seen. She always introduces new policies and keep the fun alive p.s : Title is miss-leading, just hoping that an honest review does not get deleted yet again

Cons

There are non, seriously not even one
