Pros

Weekend working hours are shorter, when working weekends Thursday and Friday before and Monday after are non-working days, weekends and public holidays are better paid. Great company culture, a lot of snacks in the office and free food/break a few times per week.

Cons

I have not been in the company for a long time, so not sure. It seems they are always gathering feedback and trying to improve.

Pros

- good salary - work from home allowed (but discouraged) - nice office

Cons

- toxic leadership, and poor communication from the top, especially from the founder - they cut benefits overnight - 15% of the company was made redundant and they didn’t officially release a statement and tried to shush it out - mistakes of leadership are often blamed on the employees, frequent micro management from the founder of the company.

Thanks for taking the time to share your view. Decisions that impact our people are always the hardest to make. While we’ve had to evolve our team structure to better support the future of Make, we realize that these transitions are difficult on a personal level. We’re grateful for everyone who’s contributed to Make and are doing everything we can to support those affected through the transition. On the culture points — we take this seriously. Radical Candor is a core value at Make, and that includes being open to hard feedback like this. Leadership communication is something we're actively working to improve, and feedback like this helps us do that. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to share this and for the more than three years you spent with us at Make. That kind of experience carries weight. There are some very serious points in your review, and we don’t take them lightly. What you describe around management, psychological safety, and the ability to speak openly is especially concerning and against our core value: Radical Candor. That’s not the kind of space we aim to build for Makers, and it’s important for us to hear that the experience does not align with that. We also note the feedback on career paths, leadership direction, and changes to benefits. As the company has grown, some of these areas have gone through changes, and it’s clear from your review that not all of them have landed well. At the same time, these are areas we continue to work on and invest in as a company, whether that is clearer leadership direction, stronger support and robust mentoring for managers, or creating better structure around growth and development with our dedicated Learning & Development department. That does not cancel out your experience, but it does mean these topics are not being ignored and being diligently investigated, thanks to reviews like yours. If you’re open to sharing more context, which would be very valuable for us, please reach out to people@make.com. Conversations like this can help us better understand where and how we need to improve.
