MHW reviews about "nepotism"

Thank you for your feedback. We are very proud of the employee referral program that we have at MHW. It motivates our employees to tap into their personal network to find talent. It is not, however, a mechanism meant to encourage nepotism, which has no place at MHW. While we do have some family members who work here, they all go through the same rigorous process that all of our hires go through and are highly qualified for the positions that they are hired into. The same holds true for advancement. We believe in a merit based system of promotion. I wish you had spoken up about some of your concerns while you were here so that we could address them 1:1, but we do wish you the best of luck in your next step. -MHW HR

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your time at MHW. We are committed to creating a comfortable, transparent and collaborative environment so I’m disappointed to hear about some of your experiences. I am unhappy to hear about your feeling regarding management/HR and would love to hear the specific issues so we can improve things. We are continually reviewing our entire benefits package, so we are getting the best bang for the everyone’s bucks but it is hard (especially with rising health care costs). We are an Importer, Distributor & Service Provider of Spirits, Wine, & Beer. While it is not a regular occurrence that our staff is drinking at work, we do incorporate it into our culture and provide alcohol at client sample tastings, Margaritas on Cinco De Mayo, and Frosé in the summer for all our employees who choose to partake. It is important we give back to our employees and celebrate our successes. -MHW HR
