Pros

1. Pay 2. Flex hours maybe 3. Nothing else comes to mind and trying to fill this space for 20 word min

Cons

1. You have to sell your soul to the devil for the pay 2. Health benefits are sub par 3. 401K contribution is the lowest seen in my career 4. Work experience will add nothing to your resume in fact lack of training or ability to do good work hurts you in the long run 5. Top heavy org with little decision making bottom up 6. B/C players with little/no experience outside Brightstar have been with company for 3-5 yrs are made Manager/Directors/VPs 7. Customers are often looked upon as fools for paying the company a lot of money for poor 3PL service 8. Real promotions are hard to come by but titles are gifted to everyone in the org to keep personnel happy. 9. Acquisition by Softbank has left ppl worried for their jobs - no direction from mgt on what the future holds for many. Resizing of org coming soon. 10. Customers are just waiting to exit in Q2/Q3 2014 once acquisition is complete 11. No training/ on boarding procedures that leaves most ppl fending for themselves 12. Leadership - what leadership? 13. Education reimbursement - benefit offered is a joke! 14. Many people leave within 2-3 yrs due to burn out

Pros

The best part about working for Brightstar was when I left work for the day.

Cons

Horrible leadership. Managers are condescending and demeaning to employees. Managers ranting about other employees within ear shot of employee teams. Being made to work through lunch breaks per Mangement; working 10-12 hours straight and still not completing work and getting reamed for it. No clear training on how to handle situations and the systems that the external client have to work with always fail so you have no back up from Management when trying to apologize for the 100 time that their order was missed or product disappears. Morale extremely low all over, and specifically not one person in my Department wanted to be there. Was asked to lie to the clients because of issues with the system on Brightstars end. It is not worth working for this company, they do seem to pay a bit more than positions similar at the surface but after day 1 when they send you home with a laptop and say "good luck" you will soon know why and realize it is not anywhere near the abuse you are put through. Run fast and far from this company. I wish I had read glass door comments before accepting my position, they are spot on about this company and I honestly feel the positive comments are per their HR team or a recruiting firm trying to place people to work there for their own commissions.

You Call This IT??

Pros

The theoretical and conceptual US CIO just left after wreaking havoc. The new CIO seems to have the background and ability to actually understand how to run an IT group.

Cons

There are some members of the IT team that are untouchable for some unknown reason (let's call them the Sr Directors). Mistakes and poor decisions seem to be rewarded rather than punished. The former CIO and the aforementioned Sr Directors collaborated (is it still called collaboration when none of them knew what they were doing?) to ensure that the IT function would lose all respect due to it's inability to support the business. Morale and motivation are at all time lows. A culture shift needs to occur and the only way to make that happen is to remove some of the current IT leadership.
