Pros

- Offers accelerated learning to Junior-level employees - Lot of things to put on your resume

Cons

- Work/Life balance is non-existent - Salary is very low and non-negotiable - Overflowing with office politics that stems directly from the CEO - Working with Korea/Japan can be extremely infuriating - No upward mobility - Employees are treated like crap - Can feel outcasted if you don't speak Korean

Pros

The base salary is very good for Japan. Relocation assistance is excellent. Some good technologists. Hours are flexible (only engineering). Company provided (English and Japanese) language classes. Probably the best option available for non Japanese speakers who are desperate to come to Japan. Work/Life balance can be great depending on team.

Cons

They push to hire foreigners to seem international but end up getting people who are not suitable for a large corporation. Unprofessional behavior up to and including, sexual harassment and hate speech are treated as “cultural differences”... seriously. Employee complaints will be met with mistreatment [power harassment]. The review system is purposefully vague so that your review can be spun anyway they want. Unlike other companies the system for peer review is ANONYMOUS. So coworkers are encouraged to backstab each other with complete freedom. Compensation is split into two components: base + "position allowance". Base salary is protected by Japanese labor law, "position allowance” can be changed at will. Believe in “lead by threat”. But will back down when you show you know the law. Don't count on a bonus. The review system is setup so only a very few top people will get some money. Everyone else gets nothing. (Not a big deal unless you were factoring it into compensation). If you’re on a nightmare project work/life balance is non-existent. Leadership has no inspiration. They just poorly imitate ideas that have already been done.
