Pros

My co-workers were amazing, we were all "in the trenches" together. The office is very nice, located downtown and they currently pay for parking, but that was under review when I left.

Cons

No leadership, training, poor pay, no promotions unless you threaten to leave, terrible work-life balance, extremely high turnover (67%).

Pros

The people at LIN (at the individual contributor level) are some of the nicest and brightest people I have had the pleasure of working with. Young, but hungry to do good work. The management team has done a great job convincing talent to take a chance on this company, and the individual contributors are what make the culture at LIN a big positive.

Cons

LIN Digital's parent company has gone through multiple rounds of acquisition over the last few years. This has resulted in lack of clear direction and vision for 1) their product offerings and 2) what that means for employee’s futures. Promises of transparency regarding this future and vision go unfulfilled. There have been several poorly-planned layoffs in the last couple of years resulting in an increase in work output expectations with fewer resources and no direction on how to achieve the expectations set. There is a lot of confusion that never really gets resolved. Another sad but regular practice undertaken by LIN is to lie to clients about what they are buying. They frequently “re-word” or “re-brand” parts of their product offering in order to deceive on the true deliverable and instead provide a lower-quality, cheaper cost product.

Pros

For the most part, the people that work at this company are the best you could ask for and they are the only reason you'll want to stay.

Cons

As fun as the fluff reviews have been to read, in my experience they aren't even remotely accurate. Walking into LIN Digital you might think to yourself, "What a fun, hip, Austiny place to work. I bet they drink at their desks and play on the Wii all the time." Let me stop you right there. Starting with salary. If you're looking for a company who will pay you below market value, this is the place for you. No matter what kind of market research you show this company, and how much of a fight you put up, you will not be paid the median of what your salary goes for in Austin. Unless, one of the directors finally gets tired of that place and you're lucky enough to take their position and ride the easy train until you find something better. Don't get your hopes up on that either because they almost always hire from the outside. I also hope that you're a Type A workaholic, because if you enjoy any type of flexibility you will not receive that at LIN Digital. Your hours are 9-6 with a 1 hour lunch break. If you need to leave at 5:55, you better have a good excuse. If you've already interviewed for LIN, and they told you that you would receive training, run away. By training they mean you'll get a login to a website of some sort and you can train yourself. All the while, you'll need to keep up with your work as if you already knew what you were doing. I would not recommend this place to a friend or enemy.
