Korry a Transdigm™ company

Pros

Long tenured employees that can help answer questions on why things are the way they are. Good facility. Interesting programs.

Cons

Korry a Transdigm™ company has the guise of being a small individual company that all major decisions are made inside the company. This is not true. Korry a Transdigm™ company is held to a very strict "plan" by Transdigm that cannot be changed after submittal (done at the beginning of the fiscal year). This was true even for the pandemic. This meant that profits at the company stayed high but 300 of 700 employees have been laid off in the last year during 3 separate layoffs. The current situation at Korry a Transdigm™ is that every employee is now doing at least two people's jobs and even three at times. Hours are long for all employees pay increases are low and the company has now also got rid of bonuses. Benefits have gotten more expensive since the Transdigm acquisition two years ago. Would not recommend working here and I can't think of anyone else who would recommend working here except maybe the HR employee or senior staff member who wrote the most recent review. A bigger emphasis was placed on St. Patricks day (emails, catered coffee, a raffle) than MLK day (not a single company email about it.).

Poor Decision Making Leads to Many Layoffs

Pros

There is a tremendous amount of loyal talent at Korry.

Cons

I have survived yet another massive layoff. This is the fourth one since the purchase by TransDigm a year ago. My team has been severely impacted, and now I am expected to do 3 times the work I was doing a year ago. I don't mind working hard to help the company, but the layoffs have not been well managed or thought out. The company has far too many managers, and once you have that title you are automatically safe. Even though we are top heavy with managers, none of them were laid off. It is the people who do the actual work that lost their jobs. Now I have a workload that is not manageable, and am surrounded by managers who contribute very little. I cannot possibly maintain this amount of work, I need help. Many of us are in this situation. Our teams were laid off, but the executive leadership kept their administrative assistants, who really have little function except to order catered lunches. This is the epitome of ego. I am doing the work of three people and their are too many admins doing nothing.

Not the company you want to work for

Pros

None left. Use to have great people and culture.

Cons

Since Transdigm took over, this company is going to the ground. Reporting and churning is over the top. Any change is being pushed as positive. Layoffs, benefits going down, and constant urgent issues and fires need to be taken care off as planning is poor at the top. No decision making or accountability on management side. If anything you will be thrown under the bus. Bad messenger will be shot as well.
