Amazing Culture and Opportunities for Growth and Development

15 Mar 2023 - Talent Analyst in Tampa, FL

      Pros

Kforce's culture is the best I've ever been a part of. For a billion dollar company, you get a small company culture feel, where executives are personable and know your name, teams are extremely supportive and care for you on a personal level, and everyone is friendly and open to partnership. I feel like my leaders have my best interest at heart and give me opportunities to learn, grow, and develop. They value my opinions and are always open to improving the way work gets done. I have the best work life balance I've ever had with lots of flexibility which alleviates a lot of stress. I'm also grateful to have had the opportunity to change roles at Kforce to explore a new career path. Kforce has truly changed my life not only professionally but on a deep personal level. Kforcer for life!

      Cons

I love my role, my team, my leadership team, and am very satisfied with my compensation. The only minor con would be some of the Benefits. I like the PTO offering, but would love if the 401(k) match could be improved slightly. The benefits are in line with the staffing industry though!!

No communication, Unprofessional, No follow through

      22 Feb 2023 - Scrum Master

      Pros

Pay rate was competitive - that's all I can say that's good.

      Cons

This company is unprofessional. They do not communicate. They do not follow through or respond. I received an offer for a contract and I accepted. Before I started, my recruiter left the company. I get a call from the replacement who talked a lot in the first conversation. I started at the company and thought all was well only to learn they didn't communicate the expectations of being in the office to me. The hiring manager was frustrated as was I. The manager ended my contract abruptly the day before Christmas Eve. I sent a message to the recruiter asking for a label and box to send the laptop back. No reply. Sent another text. Finally got a reply. A box was sent right when I was moving. It was misplaced. Now I realize after moving I still have the laptop. So I request another return box. It arrived but when I tried to drop it off at FedX - they were already closed. In a matter of days, I receive a threatening email that I am in possession of an asset and they intend to use legal action to retrieve it. Are you kidding me? I'm the one that initiated the sending of the laptop back. They send a letter saying that I was to send it back at the end of my assignment. Send it back how? I didn't even get a box and label until I asked for it! Now suddenly its an urgent matter when before it wasn't even a matter? Unbelievable.

      Overall Good Place to Work

28 Mar 2023 - Tech Recruiter in Saint Louis, MO

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Most locations have a very nice office space and nice amenities, such as an employee kitchen, multiple small conference rooms, a shared community meeting/presentation space, and a building cafeteria. My coworkers and managers were mostly very friendly and welcoming. They do a lot of fun team-building/celebratory activities and try to boost morale where they can. Because Kforce is one of the top national staffing firms, that gives both Recruiters and Sales Reps an advantage when meeting with new potential clients/candidates, as we have name recognition, and this helps us build our books of business quicker than a small, relatively "unknown" staffing firm. Kforce is very transparent with commissions, billable hours, metrics, etc - you always know where you're at and you never have to wonder or guess how much commission you'll be making or where numbers came from. They provide a lot of templates, trainings, etc, so you can be confident in how to do your job and everyone does things in a consistent manner. I think Kforce is a great company to work for if you're a recent college grad looking to start your career, OR someone who is experienced and successful in sales and can handle high pressure and strict metrics. You can make a lot of money here if you can handle the job and perform well.

      Cons

Kforce is essentially a sales company at its core, so they are VERY strict on KPIs. They put SO much focus on KPIs that it causes employees to spend their time and focus on meaningless work just to hit their numbers. All of this can at times create a stressful, negative and toxic work environment. I personally often felt like I was not good at my job because I was not hitting numbers, or not hitting the right numbers; many people on my team felt the same way often. Also, many of our clients complained about how often the Sales Reps were showing up at their office, calling them, etc (again due to KPI requirements). Clients would explicitly give us rules/guidelines/expectations, and the management at Kforce would tell you to ignore it, which caused several clients to fire us. This is NOT good customer service whatsoever. I personally know several people who were clients of Kforce, but no longer use them, and still years later have a negative impression of the company due to being too pushy and not listening to client feedback. Kforce headquarters are in Tampa, FL, so growth opportunities in STL from a role standpoint is limited (money-wise, you can make a ton on commission). The only positions available locally are Recruiting, Sales and some HR functions, and then management roles within each of those areas.

      Happy tenured employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Having worked at a couple of other staffing firms that didn't adequately prepare for potential market downturns or major client changes, it's comforting to know that Kforce has a savvy executive team that handled the pandemic well, frequently beats Wall St projections, and has a fleshed out roadmap of where we're headed. I've been given training and support when I need it and as long a leash as I could hope for when I just want to get down to work.

      Cons

Facilitating the adoption of new technologies or resources can be challenging for any organization, and while Kforce is spending a ton of money to ensure we're building towards the future, trainings for some of these new resources can be pretty lengthy and they tend to aim toward a full breakdown of every single feature rather than focusing on the basic functions to start and making trainings for more advanced features available as needed.

Great Overall Company to Work For

23 Feb 2023 - Senior Digital Marketing Specialist
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - office-occasional work environment - we are never required to come into the office, but have the opportunity to use Kforce's office spaces across the country - great work-life balance and flexible work schedule if needed - amazing office culture - everyone is super friendly and always willing to help out if needed - good benefits - generous PTO, 401k matching, health insurance, etc. - growth opportunities - a lot of room to grow within the company (was promoted to a Senior after less than a year with the company)

      Cons

      - compensation could be higher - raises and bonuses are pretty minimal, and they don't really keep up with the rising inflation rates - organization structure - it takes a while to get anything approved because it has to go through so many channels

      Cons

Team lead was one of the worst humans I’ve ever met in my life. Politics were awful and it was cutthroat sales. If you didn’t “fall in line”, team lead would get you fired.

      Pros

Compensation was the only thing that kept me

      Cons

Would you like to participate in a morning meeting every day with 50+ people? Everyone has to speak How about having your commission cut in half? You get to work from home, great, but they built a new corporate HQ,,, what? Senior Leadership couldn't care less to speak with a Senior Associate. I spent over a decade developing a fun and productive culture, they ripped the rug right out from under me in a week.

Straightforward but Steep Path to Success

      Pros

You can source for job openings across the country, not just in your office, so your earning potential is pretty much limitless. Speaking with tech professionals from all backgrounds is fascinating. You get to help people! C-Suite all did the job you're doing, so they know what it's like, and they're transparent.

      Cons

Steep learning curve and a lot of self-teaching. Hard to convince yourself to close your laptop because there's always more you can be doing. Fake candidates, but you'll find those at any staffing firm.

Work Elsewhere, Even Fast Food Pays Better

6 Dec 2022 - Chemical Technician V in Corvallis, OR
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

It's a little more relaxed and lenient on clock in and clock out times. So you can work longer or shorter days if needed without approval as long as you're not on a specific shift. Usually the people you work with are actually really nice and relaxed.

      Cons

You are a contract worker. You do not enjoy the same benefits as the company you actually work for. As far as HP Corvallis, that means 4 furloughs and finally a layoff in roughly 1 year. KForce says that they'll do everything they can to keep you on, but they won't. In addition, they pride themselves as "Try it before you buy it" and say that there's room to get hired on to the actual company you're working for. It's a flat-out lie, and there is no room for professional development, or wage growth for that matter. I was capped out at $20/hr, and that was considered high, as only 2 people I met made more ($22/hr because of supervisor positions). Due to the low pay, they have high turnover (~6-12 months is the average length someone stays I would say). They also do not follow up if you have concerns or issues about your assignment. Finally, their pay schedule is weekly, so health/dental/benefits are stupid expenses (up to 1/3 of your paycheck after taxes for a single person with no dependents).

      Cons

All my needs and expectations are met so at this time I have no "Cons" to list
