Pros

Good fellow workers with good hearts

Cons

More than 40 hours per week expected, but employees considered exempt so no overtime pay offerred. Many employees work all day then take home PC to work from home as well with no compensation just to keep up on tasks. Can't keep mid-level management or worker bees, terrible lack of training, anitquated MPS system, frustrated and overworked employees, little to no bonuses. Culture of fingerpointing / blaming others comes from the top down.

Pros

People were great, worked hard and had talent. Each person is critical to the programs they are assigned and they have daily opportunities to contribute and be seen. International customers and factories offer great experience applicable to many future jobs. Pay and compensation were fair, but only a small quarterly bonus.

Cons

(1) KeyTronicEMS runs lean and does not hire until they have too much work for current staff. This results in overworked people and by the time someone is hired, the program is behind and the new person starts in a hole. Since the CEO has stated that KTC does not support training programs (because they hire experienced people who should know what they are doing), the current employees must add OJT training to their already overworked schedule (that's what weekends are for) and many senior employees have max'ed out their vacation bank at 10 weeks as they cannot be gone for more than a couple of days without impacting their many programs. (2) Upper management does not support regulatory requirements and although the emphasis over the last few years has been to obtain a variety of Quality Certifications, this is only so they can bid on programs for Medical Devices, Automotive and Aerospace. Systems like Change Control, Record Retention and Corrective Actions are poorly defined, not well integrated and difficult to use (especially with the minimal training). Combined this with overworked staff and the result is frustrated and inefficient employees. (3) Poor resource management has experienced engineers trying to find boxes and forms for shipping or making repeated trips to document control to understand and create a work instruction; while less experienced technicians and operators are left to make critical process decisions on the floor.

Pros

Very few, if any. Sometimes “allowed” to work from home when needed.

Cons

• Expected to work 10-12 hour days and be available on weekends, basically On-Call (with no overtime pay if position is salary.) • No bonuses given, even though was told position warranted bonus incentive plan. Make sure you get everything in writing. • Procedures, processes and training do not exist, so you are expected to "self train", while still performing your day to day duties & responsibilities efficiently. • Women are treated as 2nd class citizens and given no respect. There are only a handful of women in management or upper level positions. However, they are never recognized or acknowledged. • Communication (or lack of) is the absolute worst, so your job is made even more difficult. Time and productivity is wasted because you must locate & search for information you were supposed to be given. Upper management has habit of keeping secrets or providing pertinent information. No “Team Work” . • There is no Accountability for many of the seasoned employees working in the manufacturing plants that have been with the company since before KeyTronicEMS. All processes are different in each plant and all are outdated. When costly errors or missed deadlines occur, blame is placed on anyone other than the manufacturing plant. • Everything at this company is reactive, not proactive, which is due to all the items listed - poor communication, lack of training, not being informed, no instructions given. • Comradery does not exist at this company. Lots of judgmental, sneaky people who think they are superior. Even upper management gossip about each other. Employee favoritism is very evident.
