Pros

My co-workers are truly wonderful people, and the members/customers are generally (although not always) a pleasure to work with. That is the extent of the "pros" of working here. Now on to the cons...

Cons

My experience has been that the management here (I've had three different managers in the same department in less than a year) is sub-par: they play favourites, regularly forget to disseminate important information to their teams, and generally seem unorganized and forgetful. They pick and choose who to respond to, and seem to have a weird propensity for not sharing certain information collaboratively amongst the group (e.g., I was told by my direct supervisor that we are not "allowed" to discuss our pay with our co-workers; I've also noticed that topics that may be a bit contentious - even if several people in the group have similar questions about it - have to be discussed "one-on-one" with management, presumably so that employees don't band together on an issue and potentially cause Johnson/Intact to have to re-evaluate the way they do things). Implementing new processes is typically poorly handled with little to no training before going live, leaving both team members and paying customers in the lurch. After asking management for minimal and reasonable disability-related accommodations (which they are legally required to provide, as long as it does not cause them "undue hardship"), I was given an "I can't promise anything" response from my manager and no further follow-up/confirmation as to the status of the accommodations I had requested. This company regularly touts that they are hiring a diverse workforce, which may be true - but they are obviously not overly interested in investing in and maintaining their "diverse" hires (see above re: reasonable request for accommodations). Lastly, they ask all new employees to give them a review on Glassdoor - presumably so that the reviews/ratings will be much more "favourable" than they would after someone has worked there a while (because who doesn't have rose-coloured glasses on when they first start a new job, amiright?!).

Pros

Good pay, good benefits, co-workers are great

Cons

Shifts can be all over the place and don't seem to have any rhyme or reason (managers rarely care if it seems like you're getting all the bad shifts), insanely high metrics to adhere to (10 minutes to talk/service a client and 2 mins to do notes. This can be incredibly difficult to meet if your client doesn't speak much English, needs numerous quotes, or has a lot of questions about insurance). Difficult to get documents sent via e-mail/fax, management can be hard to find/assistance on floor is non-existent and no two managers give the same answer, you are penalized if you miss your breaks due to a call (so doing your job) and taking it late which throws off your schedule adherence. They will bring you into coaching and tell you that you need to do BETTER but they can't tell you how to do that. Insanely high sales targets even though you're hired for service. Company is always hiring because turnover is so high in this place (either because staff are fired or quit because they can't take it anymore)

Pros

Benefits package is great and your coworkers

Cons

Very unorganized, too many bosses, not customer focused, hours are difficult and are generally non negotiable, absolutely no work life balance, archaic performance management system.
