Pros

Jackson used to be a place that I tjouhjt I would retire from. However times has changed and quickly. We used to get cost of living raises, merit increases and longevity bonuses but these are all things of the past.

Cons

Bad staffing, people getting hired by friends or family and not qualified to do the job. No room for advancement

Pros

Decent Start off Pay, employee fair every Thursday, accrued pot time(8 hrs. every pay period),benefits

Cons

Company Politics is what is causing Jackson to lose good employees, signs of racism and favoritism within departments, backstabbing amongst upper management trickles down to lower level employees. When I left I could not stand it anymore with the management team being in on the secrets and talking behind your back, joking about your outer appearance so don't half step.

Pros

There is a union that is good about advocating for the employees. It is a great place to see cases/diseases that are rarely seen at other hospitals making it a good place to learn. The large number of low-income, homeless/indigent patients makes me feel like I am doing something worthwhile for people that really have nowhere else to go.

Cons

The higher people are in the hierarchy of the organization the greater their hypocrisy. For good reason there is a long history of distrust of management and executives... i.e. employees went four years without pay-raises and were made to "contribute" about 5% from our pay in order to help the hospital build up its financial reserves. However, management and administration did not have to "contribute" anything from their pay, and they still continued to receive their bonuses.
