Closed management ethos
18 May 2023 - SSE- Development in BengaluruRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
As company , they have excellent benefits for employees Plenty of training to gain the knowledge
Cons
Manager are not approachable. You are not expected to ping other team manager for guidance or suggestions even though they are in same unit. All communication to happen either emp-emp, manager to manager. You are expected to take help from your own team mates not more than 15min . Ideal expectations not to seek. But they proudly say to feel free to reach out for any help in meeting No encouragement on open conversations People centric - you will not get support if you are off track ,low performed. you have to extraordinary individuals and independent, people will please you truly centric Integrity lacks with team leads and management. ProMotion requires review from other team folks, if you won’t assigned with high visibility work, you are doomed. Principal engineer are not open , they expect team to blindly follow them technically and personally (if they don’t take off for bank work and you do , then you are looked as specimen if opt a leave )

Pays well, but metrics leave something to be desired
22 Mar 2023 - Tax Prep Assistant in Hartford, CTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The pay is good for the work, and the flexible schedule is great.
Cons
Company seems to care more for metrics and surveys than they do for customer service. Literally have meetings with my manager constantly where they can see the surveys that were given to me with a 'bad' score and every single one says 'this employee was great, we just don't like the company.' I never get told to 'keep doing what I'm doing to make the customers' like me, I only get told to beg for the survey in a long paragraph pitch explaining the entire process and telling the customer how this could 'change my life', which as a customer if I heard I would hang up. I KNOW for a fact that other company's have a system in place, that if you get a bad survey and they can see from comments that it wasn't your fault, but they're mad about the company in general, those surveys don't count against you with those company's! It IS possible, yet TurboTax doesn't seem to care, they tell you, 'we've all gotten survey's we didn't deserve'. Then FIX it. Meanwhile I scheduled all the hours I needed for an end-of-season bonus and because I have some bad surveys that all say I'm amazing and did a great job, I most likely won't be eligible for the end of the season bonus.

Pros
Great place to work. The managers and team leads are wonderful. They definitely take care of their employees. I can still have my own clients on the side, or work another side-job if I wanted to. The benefits are amazing! I am working around 20 hours per week and get Health Insurance, Vision, Dental, 401K, HSA, etc. (You do have to pay for it, but it is much less than we were paying from my Husband's employer.
Cons
I also use QuickBooks as a service for my clients, and I realize that raising rates is a necessary thing, but last year's rate increases were astronomical. I work mainly for Small businessses. I'm not sure what Intuit considers a small business, but almost all of my clients are barely making ends meet. Working for a company that did that major of a price hike, is kind of hard to do.

Some good and some could do better
16 Apr 2023 - Seasonal Tax ExpertRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Flexible hours - Excellent support teams - Bonus weekend pay if available
Cons
- Scheduling tool wiped out hours that I had scheduled for the season, some that I had scheduled were gone - 30% of bonus was determined for 45 weekend hours that were gone before my start date so I signed up for hours that I would not have worked and then they gave us that part of the bonus but I was stuck with working those hours - Product Support transferred several difficult calls to me. One I was still working on with a Lead and saw that PS had transferred the case back to me. PS had spent 3 hours on the case , had a very frustrated TP, I solved the issue and PS tried to steal back the case, lucky that I was still working on notes and resolution so that Lead assisted in re-assigning back to me, this should not be allowed to happen

Limited Learning & Growth Opportunities
10 Apr 2023 - Fraud Specialist in Woodland Hills, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
people are friendly & chill. training was thorough once you're on the job the first couple months. great 401K and stock option. decent bonus and able to have more based on performance. work life balance is good, overtime optional.
Cons
too structured/stricted on nonsense such as not allowed to use our cell phone in front of the PCs (locked or unlocked) due to security issues. if anything, pretty sure my cell phone content is less secure when others walk by and see what's on my phone, not the other way around. commute was hell, 4 hours per day in traffic, no exception. but it's only 2 days a week. better live next to the office, otherwise you'll feel like a zombie waking up at 5am and won't arrive home until 13 hours later. has to clock-in not just from the Workday portal, also clock-in from an activity tracker to track the time spent throughout the day. meaning if i use the restroom, i will click "break" on the tracker. feels somewhat like prisoner style. health insurance not impressive at all. all the tech companies I've worked at have employees insurance covered at 100%, not here though. facilities are mediocre, talking about the Woodland Hills office. this is probably the only office that has no onsite gym. too many company events that we could hardly get work done. company cares about inclusion, but there's no stopping point, pretty much back to back to back. if it's optional, i guarantee half the people won't show up.

Proud to be part of Intuit
10 Apr 2023 - Engineering Manager in Mountain View, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Started my career at Intuit 5 years back as an engineer. Got an opportunity to work with various projects and gained immense knowledge on the products and the technologies. I was able to grow at Intuit as expected and also switched to the leadership which I truly enjoy guiding my teams and supporting our customers. Intuit is known for its culture and thats what attracted me to be part Intuit. I can affirm that I truly enjoy my work, love spending my time with my awesome teams and stakeholders, and blessed to support small businesses by solving our customer problems. I have worked with various organizations in the past, Intuit definitely stands tall. Work life balance is too good to be true. There will be certain times where you have to roll up your sleeves and take up the challenge head on to meet certain deadlines, thats the kind of challenge that I and my teams enjoy. We do take breaks as required to recharge and spend some quality time with our loved ones. Intuit also has shutdowns and recharge days where all of us get to enjoy extra time with our family and friends and all of us love it.
Cons
Nothing at this time. Most of the products are very rich in features, my advice for anyone joining would be to focus and learn as much as you could in your early days at Intuit.

Awesome Place to Work!
10 May 2023 - Tax Associate in Dallas-Fort WorthRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Remote employment with diversity and acknowledgement of a job well done. Intuit has the biggest push is Customer Obsession. If you are really good with customer's you will gain so much being employed here. As a new employee you will have lots of help from peers and managers to ensure your success. Great place to work!!!
Cons
Some managers aren't as dedicated and you will have to be self sufficient if you encounter one of them during your employment. A lot of our peers are dedicated to customer obsession but there are a few that are not and will slow you down. Best counter-action is to request to join another team.

Pros
I've worked at Intuit for over 8 years now. I am not a person who typically drinks the "corporate kool-aid" but this company continues to impress me, and it has been a truly AMAZING place to work. Every day I feel like I'm making an impact. My colleagues are equally passionate about improving the lives of our customers. The values are not just a "plaque on the wall" -- most employees and leaders truly stand by our values when making decisions. As an HR professional, that really makes a difference in our line of work! As a person of color, Intuit has made genuine and meaningful strides in diversity and inclusion. I became a parent during my time at Intuit, and the support and work/life balance has been great. Internal mobility is also a big focus area, and that keeps me interested in working here in the long-term.
Cons
I work 100% virtually/remotely, and I have had that arrangement since before Covid. Most employees (I'd say about 90%) are based at Intuit office locations. Intuit is still finding our rhythm with the hybrid model, and finding ways to encourage employees to come to the office more frequently. In the meantime, they are discouraging remote hires, and making it harder for employees to request to work 100% remotely. I understand the strategy, but as a remote worker, sometimes I feel like the company treats us like 2nd class citizens.
