Pros

great and caring workers, despite the horrible work conditions pushed upon them by higher ups. I have learned so much from them both in 2d animation and life, and we always kept each other going despite being weighed down by impossible deadlines, low pay n mistreatment by the bosses.

Cons

-They have been using the loophole of my country's laws to trick employees retirement funds (EPF) for years! If you are ever thinking of applying please be very very aware of the contract you are about to sign, they tell you that they will pay you rm 2000 but when it is written in the contract they divide it into "SERVICE FEES" and "ALLOWANCE" and they will report to the government the lowest possible service fees of the employee so when they pay you your EPF, instead of boss paying you rm 2000x13% EPF, you may only get rm 800x13% EPF, which means for 1 year they would have eaten up rm 1800++ of your money! So be very aware before you sign the contract if you are WILLING to sacrifice your pay like that, because once you sign it you can't sue. - NOT BEING TRUTHFUL TO CLIENTS!!! There has been many times when clients visited n discovered truths, even personally asking the employees why there aren't more people? And why are we juggling multiple roles ? Because that was not what the bosses told them. They thought we had enough manpower and quality to finish before the impossible deadlines the boss promised them, that is why they agreed to give them the projects. The bosses claim they value truth n transparency but clients usually only discover the truth when they send their own people over midway during projects and mingled with the workers, which means they can't back out while the locals here suffer under the insane deadlines. -working system: I am not very sure about the flash team, but quota system in the toonboom team is near impossible to reach due to uneven distribution of scenes and difficulty, and the coordinators love to simply throw you around projects and departments before you get use to the workflow just so they can complete headcount and chase up the work. This causes fluctuating qualities in our work and makes the employees unable to properly focus and perform our best, how can we? when 1 month you are an animator then another 3 months you are force to be a layout artist for another project then another 2 months you could be thrown to the rigging deparmtnet . And worse they will blame it on you, so when you can't reach you quota when you are thrown around like that you get PENALTY, your pay will be deducted for the month.

Pros

- The Restaurant around Inspidea is splendid, Indian food, Chinese food, Malay food, everything that you are craving, you can find it there, they really did a great job on selecting the studio location, even after I left the company, I'll still go back to that area to have my lunch, kudos to the team! the 1 star is for the food around Inspidea. -Use to know a few great artists there, but we all know this is not a good place for an artist, so all the great artist choose to leave eventually. - If you have financial problem, and can't find a job outside, can work there while looking for another job, at least you'll have a stable income, even though the paid is low, but still enough for you to survive for months. - I heard they are better if compare with Animasia(never fact check, need worker from Animasia to prove this ), well I guess that's one of the few only selling points they can use.

Cons

- For a studio that nearly 20 years old, the quality of art and animation is not really up to standard, it's not a good place for artist and animator's growth. Look at the other younger local animation studio, their portfolios are very convincing, the reason Inspidea still can get the job is because they are cheap, but base on squeezing the worker's blood and sweat. Don't get me wrong, Im not looking down at kid's cartoon, I LOVE kid's cartoon, but with good execution and good production value. Look at Inspidea's showreel, can you believe it's from a studio that nearly 20 years old? - Sincere advise for all the art and animation student, if you don't want to end up working at Inspidea, from now on make sure you listen to your lecturer, pay effort on your every assignment, so that you can get a better grade for your result, and you'll have more opportunity in the industry.

Pros

- Interesting projects to work on compared to other local 2D studios. - Great production coordination. - Good studio for gain early industry experience in 2D computer animation production.

Cons

- Lack of opportunities given to development to focus in creating new creative properties and or technical developments. - Majority of employees are not passionate with the industry or the art form of animation. This leads to lack of skills and always creates problem in achieving quality production. - Management is always hiring said employees to fulfill project headcounts (quantity over quality).
