Pros

I keep seeing all of these OBVIOUSLY planted positive reviews pop-up (I can actually hear the owner using some of these phrases in my head. I’m sure there were six hour meetings to address the problem.) and have to put in my two cents. Pro: there are some genuinely talented, hard-working people here. Unfortunately, you won’t get to know any of them because everyone is walking on eggshells, dodging panic attacks, and knifing each other in the back in order to save themselves from the ire of the CEO / owner and his league of minions. Please avoid putting yourself through this. I honestly feel for the poor souls who are forced to transcribe these dictated reviews. May they sleep well at night.

Cons

Beyond the poor management and toxic work environment, I’ll note two things: 1) Most if not all of the planted reviews note the “great relationship” this company has with major film studios. This isn’t true. What Insight acquires from these studios are the dregs...the licenses that are left over after the real publishers have a go at what’s available. Just take a look at the content and you’ll see. 2) When other publishers see Insight on my resume, they never ask “why did you leave”? They say, “so that man’s crazy, huh?!” It’s an industry-wide joke.

Atrocious company culture. Toxic, fear-based management.

Pros

First off, this is an accurate review from an actual employee, unlike the obvious fabricated "positive" reviews planted by the owners, beneficiaries, and on-site investors. - This employer will teach you the value of a good company culture by exemplifying the opposite. - Passionate, talented coworkers (most of whom are unappreciated and overworked). - Projects with big licencor names. (Is it worth it? NO.)

Cons

- Tyrant owners don't respect their employees enough to provide workflow structure, creating a perpetual, chaotic state of emergency that you will bear the weight of day-in, day-out. They refuse to grant time or authority to those they've hired as managers to establish procedures. The results are no boundaries, abusive, unrealistic, and constant contradicting demands on top of an already overbearing workload. - The fear-based managerial style has a trickle-down effect that permeates all relationships and interdepartmental communications within the company. You can cut the air with a knife. - No leadership, no direction, no support. They hire field experts to be middle managers only to strip them of any actual authority. - Toxic company culture, nepotism, top-down office bullying/gossip, defeated morale, rampant turnover. - The building itself is a nightmare. Overwhelming, noisy bullpen, overcrowded, not enough desks to seat all of their employees, no offices for private meetings, no parking. After commuting in they advise you to park across the other side of town where it floods. I can't make this stuff up. - Insulting compensation considering the cost of living and workload demands. There is nothing redeeming about working for this company. - What you have here is a business managed by a handful of elite, virtue signaling socialites who lack the ethic to address failing internal relations of a company that has exceeded the bounds of a trust-fund hobby. For years on end they describe their own operations as "dysfunctional" but to outsiders they sell this as "growing pains" or "opportunity for experience." The truth is it's a terrible, depleting place to work and they blame the employees as somehow being deficient.

DO NOT work here. I repeat, DO NOT work here.

Pros

Sometimes people bring in donuts and oreos to share? I’m grasping for straws here…

Cons

I know, you’re thinking maybe you are different. Maybe you can change this place. I mean, you’ve probably worked in some tough environments before. But no matter how talented and special you are, you can’t change this place. Many people have tried and failed, sometimes at the sake of their careers. I can’t stress this enough---do not take a position here, no matter what they promise you. What I experienced at Insight was a complete lack of ethics, a toxic work environment with sexism, racism (mocking of accents), and general hostile behaviors from upper management. I was lied to repeatedly during my time there. I have never experienced such an unprofessional environment. I am shocked these people are still in business. The majority of the positive reviews here conveniently come a few weeks after negative ones--we can read between the lines.
